Mission Statement

The New English Review and the New English Review Press are an internet based magazine and publishing house, dedicated to the return of the spirit of public debate that began when the Greek philosophers and Hebrew prophets first walked the streets of Athens and Jerusalem. In the 21st century that exercise of a free conscience is now threatened by a new darkness that has descended upon our schools, media and many of our elected representatives; the appeasement of radical Islam and its fellow travelling cultural Marxists who we challenge and oppose in the pages of our journal and books. Of equal importance, our publications provide our readers with lively, thoughtful and at times witty, non doctrinaire explorations of society's most challenging problems and creative endeavors.

The Review is a monthly public forum supported by the daily blog (The Iconoclast)  whereas the press is a venue for in depth exploration of ideas through full length books. The NER was established five years after the 9/11 terrorist attack by a group of like minded citizens from the Anglosphere-American, Canadian and British writers who uphold the values of Western civilization.

Our contributors come from different political and religious backgrounds. We are unaffiliated with any political party or religious denomination. We believe that it will take a generation for the current tide of political correctness to be successfully reversed. And so, we open our minds and the pages of our review, to anyone who will help us reclaim that spirit of liberty which has become the legacy of English speaking democracies since the Magna Carta, each in our own respective countries and, for the good of coming generations.
