Binned Laden: Pair to divorce
THE British gran who wed Osama bin Laden’s son is divorcing him after just five months — because she fears they will be murdered. Jane Felix-Browne, 51, who wed Omar bin Laden, 26, in April, told The Sun:
“We are both in fear of our lives. People are opposed to my marriage because I am British. I wasn’t prepared to see the man I love die. That is why we have decided to end our marriage.”
She told how al-Qaeda terror chief Osama’s powerful Saudi family had been humiliated by their marriage.  She claimed threats were made that scrap metal dealer Omar would be flung in prison on trumped-up charges.  And Omar feared losing all his business contracts unless they divorced.
In a trembling voice, five-times wed Jane insisted: “It was a really, really good marriage, a strong marriage. But I cannot stand by and watch my beloved husband die before my very eyes. I love him enough to let him go. I want him and his son, who is just three, to return to as normal a life as possible. This decision will hopefully take the pressure off Omar and his family. I will never marry again. My heart will always be with Omar and I will take my love for him to the grave.” I give her a year.
Parish councillor Jane, from Moulton, Cheshire, fears talking out against the mega-wealthy bin Laden family. But The Sun understands they demanded that Omar dump his British wife. Omar, whose son is from his first marriage to a Saudi wife, also received threats in a call to his mobile last week.
Jane said: “Omar was told he shouldn’t be married to me and there was a very good chance he would be taken to prison. Omar knew who it was on the phone, but he wouldn’t tell me. After the call he said he felt both our lives were in jeopardy.”
Jane said: “We were both absolutely devastated. We cried for three whole days.
In a last-ditch bid to save their marriage Jane wrote to Saudi Arabia’s king last week to ask for his backing. She received no reply.
Mum-of-three Jane, whose former boyfriends include soccer legend George Best, said: “There is a lot of prejudice in this country.” After their wedding the couple ruled out living in Britain because they feared Omar might be attacked. Now Jane says a divorce will be finalised any day.
Omar — fourth eldest son of the al-Qaeda leader (who says he has not been in contact with his evil dad for six years)— told The Sun yesterday: “This marriage is now over. I don’t want a divorce but there are serious reasons for this break-up that I can’t talk about. I adore being with this woman. But we can’t stand up when the waves from the sea are coming to wipe us out.”
