Partial solar eclipse visible from south east England.

The solar eclipse today was visible partially from the United Kingdom. The best view was in northern Scotland and the Shetland isles where 40% of the sun was obscured. In southern England only 20% was obscured and many areas saw nothing due to cloud and rain. The maximum cover was expected at 10.20am. I took this photo at about 9.50 this morning somewhat east of London, by the simple expedient of placing my venerable eclipse glasses purchased for the 1999 eclipse over the lens of my camera and pointing in the general direction of the sun while looking away.
