How I wanted to vote
I wanted to write-in John Derbyshire for Governor of the State of New York, not because I think he would make a good governor—he would—but I thought it would be the best way, in the unlikely event he won, to persuade him to reinvolve himself in electoral politics. Alas, write-ins are too complicated at 6:15 a.m. (the polls open at 6).
Alas, too, that Congressman Peter King isn't running in my district.
Finally, alack and alas, it isn't a presidential election year—and Andrew Jackson isn't running.
