Israel: Olive Orchard Jihad
The jihad against the Jews of Israel is waged by Arab Muslims lobbing rockets from Gaza (at least 80 in the latest barrage launched randomly at civilian targets), by Arab Muslims trying to sneak through checkpoints into Israel with knives up their sleeves or (in just the latest case) 8 pipe-bombs in a backpack, and also by...raiding the olive orchards of Jews in Judea and Samaria, stealing the fruit and cutting down trees, as well as by damaging their own trees and then claiming that the Jews did it (the inflammatory claim that "the Evil Jews are destroying the olive trees of the Pooor Persecuted Palestinians!' has been a staple of the 'Palestinian' Arab Muslim propaganda for decades).
Two recent reports on what might be called "olive orchard jihad".
From Maayana Miskin of Israel National News.
'Jewish-Owned Olive Grove Robbed, Destroyed'.
'Arabs (that is, Arab Muslims - CM) steal olives from Jewish-owned grove, then destroy trees. Victim asks why the media makes Jews the villain.
'A Jewish farmer went to harvest olives Tuesday morning from an olive grove he owns in the Shilo region.
'To his horror, he found that the grove had been stripped of olives and dozens of trees had been destroyed.
(In a later version of this report, by Chana Ya'ar on 25th October, here:
there is a slightly more detailed description of the damage - "dozens of trees were destroyed as well, their branches chopped. Many were sawn down". - CM)
'All that farmer Erez Ben-Saadon was left with were broken branches, cloth olive sacks with Arabic writing on them, and spilled olives on the ground.
"We don't know what to do now", he said. "We're talking about thousands of shekels lost, and serious damage to the grove".
'This is not the first time Ben-Saadon has fallen victim to theft and vandalism at the hands of his Arab neighbours.
That last phrase should probably read, 'his Arab Muslim neighbours'. - CM
"Last Sabbath Arabs harvested from my trees and stole olives from 40 trees in the same area", he reported.
"A few years ago, they planted three bombs in our vineyard in Har Bracha", he added. "It was a miracle that nobody was hurt".
"Uprooting trees, theft, and throwing rocks at farmers are not rare, unfortunately", he said. "Every year we suffer from assaults and thefts both from the Arabs and from anarchists and leftists from around the world".
"It's outrageous that next to my home in Rachelim, Arabs harvest olives without being disturbed, and yet they attack us in the media, as if we're plotting against them, while Arab attacks and thefts targeting Jewish farmers in Samaria are met with silence", he declared.
'Samaria Residents' Council head Benny Katzover confirmed that farmers in the region have faced frequent harassment, theft and vandalism during the olive harvest season, as well as attempted libel.
The libel being the Arab Muslim (and other anti-Israel 'activists'') claims that the Jews are attacking Arab-owned orchards. - CM
'Unfortunately, this serious issue is met with a lack of proper response", he said. "I call on the legal authorities to take Arab and far-left attacks as seriously as they take Jewish attacks on Arabs" he added.
For an account of what seems to have been the preparation for a claim that Jews had damaged 'Palestinian' Arab olive trees, see this second item, also from Israel National News, David Lev reporting:
'Arab/ leftist Olive Tree Vandals Busted By Jewish Film Crew'.
'Volunteers caught a group of Arabs and anarchists uprooting olive trees near Alteret in Binyamin, apparently planning to blame Jews.
'Volunteers from the grassroots Binyamin Residents' Council on Wednesday caught a group of Arabs (most likely, Arab Muslims - CM) and anarchists uprooting olive trees near the town of Alteret in Binyamin.
'Apparently the group was planning to cause damage to an olive grove belonging to an Arab farmer, and blame it on Jews from the area.
'The volunteers filmed footage of the group as it was destroying the trees, filming its members for several minutes, until one of the group noticed they were being recorded.
'At that point the group began shouting and threatened to attack the volunteers.
'The group quickly loaded the trees onto a pickup truck and ran away.
'Itzik Shadmi, chairman of the Council, called on the IDF and the government to put more effort into preventing these kinds of provocations, and to keep the anarchist and student groups who ostensibly come to "help" the Arabs n the olive harvest, out of the area.
"Thanks to these patrols, which are manned by volunteers from the Binyamin region, we have shown the true faces of these Arabs, who each year complain that Jewish residents of Judea and Samaria destroy their trees".
'Last week, volunteers also caught a group destroying trees, and filmed them as well. That incident occurred near Elon Moreh. That group apparently did not have a pickup truck to move the evidence when they were caught, and instead left the damaged trees in the field. Volunteers called police, but no arrests were made".
I can only encourage the Jewish farmers to not lose heart: to keep a close watch and to diligently document everything happening in and around their own olive groves..and those of the Arab Muslims next door. Making sure that in each case the specific locality being monitored is clearly identifiable. Perhaps hidden webcams? Sooner or later, if they are patient and keep at it, they will catch the Muslim thieves and vandals - or as it may be, the 'false flag' 'hoax attack' Pallywood teams - and their eager dhimmi assistants in the act, and under circumstances that do not allow for the smallest ambiguity. And then yet another staple Arab Muslim lie will be well and truly exploded. - CM
