Pius Story

'Pius story' is just one of the many anagrams of 'Pussy Riot' -- a radical left-wing collective that has recently had some of its members gaoled for two years for aggravated hooliganism in Moscow -- and I can assure you that the story behind the gaoling has nothing pius about it at all.

It transpires that a group of foul-mouthed young women from the collective known by the innuendo-laden name of 'Pussy Riot' performed an extremely crude, rude and expletive laden song on the soleas, and on the right-hand and left-hand kliroi, in front of the Holy Doors in the Iconostasis and behind the ambon in the Cathedral Church of Christ the Saviour in Moscow. Apparently, and absolutely unbelievably, they committed this sacrilegious act because they wanted to protest about the closeness of Church and state in Russia and because they believe, so they say, that the Church has no right to ask the faithful to vote in certain ways, ways that would be beneficial to the Church and the faithful, in elections in Russia.

After their charade was stopped, in a very gentle manner, by Church security officials their remarks became increasingly unpleasant and scatalogical and were directed towards Christianity in general and the Russian Orthodox Church in particular. This was hardly surprising as the members of the Pussy Riot collective have close ties to the dissident group known as Voina, which means 'war' in Russian, which is infamous for its peurile ramblings and childish fascination with excrement, filth and bodily functions.

Members of the collective frequently perform in Voina works such as "Fuck for the heir to Papa Bear!", which consisted of five couples, including one pregnant woman four days from giving birth, having public sex in Moscow's Timirayzev State Museum. Another so-called production by Voina was the defacing of the famous Liteyny Bridge across the Neva in Saint Petersburg by the painting of a giant seventy-five yard long phallus on its surface -- exactly the sort of filthy, childish gesture that Voina, and the Pussy Riot collective, is, and are, known for in Russia.

Another typical Voina technique is to bring metaphor literally to life. Playing on the Russian swear slang for "nicked" -- spizdit’, or literally ‘cunted’ -- one work saw a female activist come out of a supermarket with frozen chicken legs inserted in her anus and vagina. While the activist was dealing with the chicken bits, other participants assembled eight large cards into the word "B.E.Z.B.L.YA.D.N.O" (‘unwhored’).

Writing on his blog Alexei Plutser-Sarno, who is the self-styled 'spokesman' for Voina and its associated groups such as the Pussy Riot collective and also an expert on Russian swear language (surprise, surprise) and the editor of a number of etymological dictionaries involving rude words, explains that the word blyad’ (‘whore’) has historically meant two things. In ancient Russia, the word denoted "lying, deceit, delusion"; currently, "it stands for the man in the street who dreams of a car, a dacha, a flat and debauchery". Voina activists, and their friends and associates such as the Pussy Riot collective, are presented in complete contrast to such characters: "A Voina activist is no 'blyad' since they do not buy or sell anything, and live without spending money... anything Voina needs its activists obtain free".

So, when the Pussy Riot demonstrators were charged the usual left-wing retards demanded that the Church forgive them and that the Russian authorities go very easy on them. Why?

Because the Church did forgive them -- something the trendy-lefty western press neglects to mention -- and the Orthodox Church said in a statement after the verdict that the collective's stunt was a "sacrilege" and a "reflection of rude animosity toward millions of people and their feelings". It also asked the authorities to "show clemency toward the convicted in the hope that they will refrain from new sacrilegious actions". That sentiment reflected the sentiment of forgiveness that Archpriest Maxim Kozlov drew on that was vocalised right at the start of this incident: "We are praying and hoping these young women ... realise their acts are awful. And despite this the church is asking for mercy within the limits of law."

And because the authorities did go easy on them -- all they got was twenty-four months in gaol for an act that has scandalised Christians all around the globe -- the Russian authorities are being pilloried for defending their Christian people's right to have their Churches left in peace and not defiled by vile, gratuitous swearing and lewd and libidinous acts. We Christians are being accused of being complicit in some vast conspiracy to suppress freedom of speech because we dared to object to having our places of worship so desecrated -- yes, we dared to object and now such newspapers as The Guardian call the foul-mouthed female thugs who committed this act of depravity and vandalism "articulate", "charming" and "nice".

We Christians can go hang -- our sensibilities aren't worth a damn in the opinion of the western dhimmi press -- for the only thing that matters in today's topsy-turvy world is portraying the potty-mouthed young thugs of the Pussy Riot radical left-wing collective as some sorts of heroes and martyrs when, in reality, they are just feces-fixated exhibitionist hooligans who got exactly what they deserved. Maybe next time the police and the courts will be able to unravel the complicated web of connections to various criminal enterprises that many people believe sustain groups like the Pussy Riot radicals and Voina -- groups that "do not buy or sell anything, and live without spending money... anything Voina needs its activists obtain free".

Finally, and before I get too worked up, I can't help but wonder what would have happened to the shit obsessed females of the Pussy Riot collective if they had chosen to perform their base stunt in a mosque? Would the mosque's security personnel have been as gentle and considerate as the Church's? Somehow I doubt it! Would the western press be hailing these sordid, stool-mouthed females as heroes in that case? Again, I somehow doubt it!

But we Christians are supposed to do more than forgive. For some unknown reason we are also supposed to abrogate our rights in law and demand more than leniency -- we're supposed to demand clemency and pardons. Why should we do that in a civilised country where we are supposed to be free to worship and go about our business unmolested and equal to everyone else? If the Pussy Riot thugs had chosen to defile a mosque would the same be being asked of Mohammedans? I think not!

I forgive them, but now they must do their penance.

Pc Keith Blakelock murder: new charge after 27 years

Scotland Yard is poised to bring murder charges over the killing of Pc Keith Blakelock during the Broadwater Farm riots, The Sunday Telegraph can disclose.

A man who was under 18 at the time of the Broadwater Farm riots in 1985 will be prosecuted over his involvement in one of Britain’s most notorious unsolved murders. Metropolitan Police sources disclosed that after reviewing the evidence against the man, two QCs agreed there is a realistic prospect of conviction – the hurdle which investigators must clear in order to win the backing of the Crown Prosecution Service. The CPS have an agenda and are riddled with 'diversity' consiousness of course, but they don't rule the country.

The Sunday Telegraph knows the identity of the man but has decided not to disclose further details for legal and police operational reasons. It will be the first time he has faced charges in connection with the crime.

Detectives are understood to have had their confidence buoyed by the conviction in January of Gary Dobson and David Norris for the racist murder of Stephen Lawrence. The officers believe that if such a long standing and legally complex case can be resolved then justice can also finally be secured for Pc Blakelock.

Pc Blakelock, 40, was attacked as he tried to protect firefighters who were tackling a supermarket blaze at the height of the riot on October 6, 1985. After stumbling, the father of three was surrounded by a mob screaming “Kill the pig”.

He was stabbed dozens of times and the machete-wielding killers then tried to decapitate him. A later trial heard the mob intended to parade the constable’s head on a pole to taunt other officers.

Winston Silcott, Mark Braithwaite and Engin Raghip were convicted in March 1987 of Pc Blakelock’s murder but all three convictions were quashed four and a half years later,

The centuries old double jeopardy law was discarded so that men acquitted of the murder of Stephen Lawrence could be re-tried as many times as it took to get the conviction that would satisfy the diversity circus that surrounds his mother. I want to see the new regulations used to get Winston Sillcott, Mark Braithwaite and Engin Raghip back inside, this time for a whole life sentence without parole.  Then she may truly  deserve to carry an Olympic flag for her 'devotion to justice'.
Get a new broom at the HOme Office and maybe we will see the killers of Charlene Downes behind bars, and find out what happened to Paige, the other little girl missing from Blackpool.

A to Z of Victimhood

I have observed on several occasions that the word “plight” has become devalued by its association with the “Palestinians”. Their “plight” consists in not suffering the consequences of their own actions and of Islam, cushioned as they are by Western largesse. A recent piece at Pajamasmedia has the tagline: “The plight of the Uighurs is beginning to inflame Muslim populations”. That does it for me and “plight” – it is but another tool in the arsenal of combustible Muslims.

But why start and end at P? Christina has stumbled upon this Palestinese Lexicon, an indispensable A to Z of Palestinian victimhood, essential for us evil Zionist stooges if we are to avoid the all-encompassing charge of racism. Here is a selection of entries by Philippe Assouline, to whom it would be difficult and perhaps unwise to hold a candle:

Aboriginal/Native: Any non-Jew, preferably Arab, who has immigrated to Israel/Palestine within the last 150 years or is a remnant of Arab colonial conquests. For example, Yasser Arafat and Edward Said who were both born in Egypt are “Native” Palestinians.

Apartheid: The only system in the Middle East which is democratic and grants Arab citizens full equality under the law, including the right to become a Justice of the Supreme Court, an ambassador, a military officer or a Minister in the Cabinet., i.e. a form of “Racism.” Not to be confused with the widespread discrimination and exclusion of Palestinians on ethnic grounds in Lebanon, which is not “Apartheid.”

Apartheid Wall: A separation fence erected in response to countless terror attacks in order to protect both Jews and Muslims from suicide bombings as a manifestation of “Zionist Aggression.”

Checkpoint: An absolutely gratuitous, cruel and malicious security measure erected in the West Bank in response to years of deadly suicide bombings, to be equated with the worst forms of human torture. Not to be confused with security checkpoints at airports and international borders which, though identical in the inconveniences they cause, are perfectly acceptable.

Civilian: An armed Palestinian terrorist in the act of planning or staging a terror attack who is targeted or killed by Israel.

Concession: The state that should perpetually be inhabited by Israel as part of “Peace.”

[...]

Day of Rage: Friday.

[...]

Ethnic Cleansing: The act by which Israel offered Arab people citizenship in the midst of a genocidal war waged by Arab leaders in 1948, has given its Arab citizens full democratic rights and enabled its Arab population to thrive and grow at a rate faster than the Jewish majority. E.g., the sprawling Israeli-Arab town of Umm al Fahm is proof of “Ethnic Cleansing” by Israel.

[...]

Frustration: Murderous anti-Semitism that directly precedes “Resistance.”

Starvation/Humanitarian Catastrophe: With respect to Gaza, the state of having food and all necessary supplies provided by daily Israeli deliveries, the exporting of produce to foreign markets and the building of luxury hotels.

Genocide: The deliberate campaign by “Zionists” to exterminate Palestinian Arabs which has resulted in the explosion of the Palestinian population from just 6 to 700, 000 in 1948 to over 6 million today, including over one million Israeli Palestinians represented in the Israeli parliament.

History: Whatever set of changing fictions is needed to promote the present set of “Palestinian” claims.

Holocaust: The excessively documented albeit entirely fabricated industrial mass murder of European Jewry that was aided by Palestinian nationalist leader Haj Amin Husseini but never happened. Also, the plight [q.v. -- M. J.] of Palestinians.

[...]

Jews: People who descend from Khazzar Turkic peoples and have no connection whatsoever to ancient Judeans or Israelites who were in fact “Palestinians.” Also, the group of people that supplies Palestinian propaganda with its theories, mouthpieces and arguments.  E.g. Norman Finkelstein is a “Jew”; Ehud Barak is not a “Jew”.[...].

Land for Peace: The process by which a country, e.g., Israel, is deprived of both land and peace.

Martyr: Any person who dies while killing or attempting to kill “Zionist” civilians having a picnic.

Massacre: Any imagined or real, accidental or deliberately caused death of one or more Palestinian terrorists in an armed fight usually started by said terrorists. Also, every act of Jewish self defense, ever. Usually found in a string of terms given as an answer by Saeb Erakat to any question by a reporter even on Entertainment Tonight, i.e., “…struggle, checkpoint, massacre, guns breed guns, bullets breed bullets…. Angelina Jolie has lost too much weight because of the “Occupation.”

Occupation: The perpetual state of Palestinian politics, regardless of the total absence of Israeli soldiers in certain Palestinian areas, and an excuse for every single Palestinian excess including public domestic violence and high cholesterol. Is characterized by the fact that 96% of Palestinians are governed by their own elected leaders.

[...]

Palestinian: A European construct that is shorthand for the eternal victim and a symbol for every sexy cause and/or Hollywood hero. Also, a convenient object of self-serving and narcissitic leftist pity, summer “Activism” internships and the expiating of Holocaust guilt. Not to be confused with:

Palestinian: A Palestinese term for an ancient Arabic people that suddenly materialized in the twentieth century but counts among its members patriotic Jews living on the land of Israel millennia ago. For example, Jesus, a Judean Rabbi, was a “Palestinian.” Also used for objects: the Dead Sea Scrolls are “Palestinian” artifacts.*

[...}

Racist
: The state of any act, event, person or thing that accepts in any way, tacit or explicit, the existence of Israel or interrupts albeit temporarily the world’s obsessive preoccupation with Palestinians’ claims. For example, a moment of silence to commemorate the loss of athletes murdered by PLO terrorists in 1972 is “Racist.” Cherry tomatoes are “Racist.” Also, an adjective which is always appropriate before any word, whether referring to an object, abstract concept, medical device or person who is related to “Zionists,” e.g., the racist pill-cam that saved my mother in law’s life was made in the “Zionist Entity” by “War Criminals.”

[...]

Refugee: Any Arab anywhere in the world who claims that one of his relatives was forced to leave Israel as a result of a war started by Arabs despite pleas to the contrary from the nascent State of Israel in 1948. Jews who were expelled from Arab states in 1948 as a result of the same war are not to be included in this term.

Resistance: The act of deliberately murdering (unarmed) Israeli school children or other innocents in restaurants, buses, nurseries or other areas or the firing of rockets onto elderly people without provocation. E.g., massacring 11 Israeli athletes who were napping in their rooms at the Munich Olympics was “Resistance.”

Right: Any Palestinian demand.  This term does not apply to Jews.

[...]

Two State Solution: A political plan that is to result in a Palestinian state and another Palestinian State. Also, a project that has been proven to not be realistic or have much of a chance of success in ending the conflict and therefore is the only solution that can ever be discussed.

War Crimes: Any historically documented act of Israeli non-aggression. For example, the transforming by “Zionists” of desert lands into watermelon patches is a “War Crime.”

[...]

Zionism: The inchoate and indefinable global movement for evil that is the cause of all of the ills plaguing the Arab world since 1300 AD including Mauritania, Southern Yemen and Malmo, Sweden, and, conveniently, also the cause of the meltdown of the Western financial system. Expressed by such pernicious phenomena as the credit crisis of 2008, slow Syrian internet connections and trained sharks operating as spies off of the Egyptian coast.

[...]

Philippe Assouline, cooking with gasoline. Thanks, once again, to Christina for this gem. My only reason for not reproducing all of it is to encourage readers to visit this writer's blog.

New English Review readers can add their own contributions. I would add:

Child: a Palestinian terrorist up to the age of twenty-five killed or injured by an Israeli

Elderly: a Palestinian terrorist over the age of twenty-five killed or injured by an Israeli

Soldier: an Israeli from the age of 0 to 100 killed or injured by a Palestinian terrorist.

Our Grateful Ally Iraq

NYTimes:

WASHINGTON — When President Obama announced last month that he was barring a Baghdad bank from any dealings with the American banking system, it was a rare acknowledgment of a delicate problem facing the administration in a country that American troops just left: for months, Iraq has been helping Iran skirt economic sanctions imposed on Tehran because of its nuclear program....
