Dummies and the dummies who tempt them
We know that Muslim men will be tempted by an uncovered woman as a cat is tempted by catfood. Pictures of unrelated women (and boys) on Muslims' cellphones are similarly forbidden temptations. Let's not even get into goats, and which villagers they can be served to, post-carnally.
Now, even immodestly dressed storefront dummies are seen as temptations to Muslim males, by those who know Muslim males the best: male Islamic clerics. I remember being told that a man would be attracted to a bowling ball, if the bowling ball had long eyelashes glued to it, lipstick painted in the form of lips, and if it was placed on a pair of black high-heeled shoes. That may be true, for a certain subset of the male species. From the Gulf Times:
Men cannot go topless on Gaza beaches, owners of clothes shops are told to remove mannequins displaying lingerie and some couples complain of being asked for marriage papers as they walk in the streets.
Human Rights groups and critics say some in the Islamist Hamas group, which rules Gaza, are exerting pressure to impose Islamic law on the public at a time when others seek to engage with the Western world.
Hamas, which wrested control of the Gaza Strip from Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas’ Fatah faction in fighting in 2007, denies plans to impose Islamic laws.
But Gazans say bearded men who identify themselves with the ministry of religious affairs are advising people to follow Islamic values, stop smoking and stick to conservative forms of Muslim dress for men and women.
“People from the Virtue Campaign of the religious affairs ministry came and said mannequins were a provocative source of temptation,” said clothing-store owner Saoud al-Rayes.
“They said if we did not remove the mannequins which display underwear, they would confiscate them,” Rayes said.
The Hamas-run government denies any bid to impose Islamic law, but a recent decision by the Hamas-appointed chief justice ordering women lawyers to cover their hair has revived fears.
Ahmed Abu Khaled said three young men had approached him recently as he went for a swim without a T-shirt on Gaza beach.
They told him that was wrong and urged him to stick to Islamic and moral values. “They were polite but I did not think I could argue,” he said. [One does not argue with the will of Allah. One obeys, slavishly.]
Taleb Abu Shaar, the minister of religious affairs, said the campaign of his ministry was “cultural and educational”, to spread public awareness but not to force people to do things.
“The campaign is in line with our religion and traditions. We see some dangers threatening youth and some wrongdoings, and our role is advise and to warn our people against bad things,” Abu Shaar said.
“Some people exaggerate the campaign in order to accuse the government to stir fears in society. We do not force people to do what they dislike,” he said.
Human Rights groups expressed concern over decisions made by some Hamas ministers, of which some were later eased, such as checking men walking with women.
Khalil Abu Shammala, director of Ad-Dameer Association for Human Rights, got complaints from people who had been stopped by policemen requesting identity and marriage papers to prove their relationship with opposite sex companions.
“The decision was cancelled after some Hamas leaders noted that its implementation angered the public,” he said.
“There were figures in Hamas calling for imposing Islamic laws ... while others felt it was not the right time,” Abu Shammala said.
Is there ever a "right time" to give up the basic freedom to walk down the street, or the freedom to choose one's own clothing, or the freedom to sing and dance, or the freedom to choose one's own religion, or the freedom to drive a car, or the freedom to attend school?
Like the false dichotomy of those Muslims who choose fast-jihad versus those who choose slow-jihad, the only debate within Hamas is WHEN to forcibly impose sharia.
By one vote Fairfax County approves expansion of ISA “school for terrorists”
In a tumultuous vote on Monday night, the Fairfax County, Virginia, board of supervisors approved by a vote of 6 to 4, expansion plans by the controversial Islamic Saudi Academy (ISA) to expand on a 34 acre site in the Pope’s head section. We have posted on this saga from its beginnings last summer protesting Saudi education Ministry hate texts to continuing revelations about its terrorist grads. One of them, ISA 1999 Valedictorian, USborn Omar Ahmed Abu Ali, was re-sentenced to life in prison for a plot to assassinate former President Bush just days before the Fairfax County Board of supervisors vote. The vote to approve the expansion was achieved when one member of the Board of Supervisors, Michael Frey changed his vote.
In an email that I received following this pusillanimous action by the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors, Jim Lafferty, of Virginians Against Sharia Task Force (VAST) noted:
The ISA expansion plan was approved by 1 vote
today. Supervisor Mark Frey crossed over and voted with the liberals. Board
Chairman Sharon Bulove, Linda Smith, Pat Herrity and John Cook all voted
against the ISA proposal. Everybody went out of their way to say they only
considered land-use issues but several mentioned the tsunami of e-mails and
phone calls each of their offices received.
Lafferty, VAST’s spokesperson and protest organizer also had the tag line in a Washington, DC NBC news report, “Fairfax County Approves "School for Terrorism:"
"We don't think it should exist, let alone expand," said Jim Lafferty, of the Virginia Anti-Shariah Task Force. "It teaches shariah law. It teaches terrorism. They're raising the next generation of homicide bombers right here in Virginia."
"We're actively going to solicit candidates to run against them, and we are going to defeat them," Lafferty said.
Michael Birnbaum in the Washington Postreport, “Fairfax, Va. Board approves Saudi Academy Plan” brought up the findings in the recent review of the heavily redacted 2008-2009 Islamic student texts performed by Nina Shea of the Hudson Institute and Al Al-Ahmed of the Anti-Saudi Institute for Gulf Research Affairs.
The Washington Post report noted:
The school's curriculum was revised again at the beginning of the 2008-09 school year after the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom condemned its textbooks. Critics of the academy say most of the offensive material has now been removed. But they say the textbooks clearly remain guided by Wahhabism, the fundamentalist school of Sunni Islam that is dominant in Saudi Arabia. They object particularly to some references to the marriage of children and say other concerns remain.
"The stuff about killing, it's not there anymore," said Ali Al-Ahmed, the head of the Institute for Gulf Affairs and a critic of the Saudi government, who obtained copies of the newest textbooks.
Al-Ahmed said references to jihad had been completely removed from the curriculum. He found that strange, he said, because the concept -- which in the Koran is described as "striving in the path of God," and is not necessarily violent -- was essential to Islam. In the past, textbooks referred to the militant form of jihad. Al-Ahmed said he would have felt better if moderate references to jihad remained.
Nina Shea and Ali Al-Ahmed had stronger criticisms about their examination of the redacted ISA Islamic Studies texts in an NRO article, “Hide and Seek” published yesterday, the day of of the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors vote. Their theme was: “A Virginia school scrubbed jihad from its textbooks, but may still preach violence.”
The co-authors noted:
The question is not whether ISA supplements these new textbooks with other material, but what these other materials contain. There is evidence that the school, over the past school year, did in fact continue to use some extremist supplemental resources.
ISA’s website for 2008-09 stated that the school “follows the Islamic Studies curriculum which has been set forth by the Kingdom.”As the first resource on its “Useful Links” webpage, ISA linked to the Saudi Education Ministry site, where the noxious curriculum is posted in full. Those books, according to the Ministry, are electronically formatted to facilitate copying, cutting, and pasting. This underscores the problem of a piecemeal approach to Saudi educational reform.
In addition, it’s important to note that on matters besides jihad, the books still largely reflect Wahhabi orthodoxy. For example, ISA’s new texts endorse marriages between adults andpre-pubescent children, teach that women should not be judges or exercise “greater governorship,” and starkly divide the world into believers and unbelievers.
In conclusion Shea and Al-Ahmed suggest that all it not what it seems, but rather it is a product of taqiyyah-religiously sanctioned dissimilitude in Islam.
Since 9/11, ISA officials — including the various Saudi ambassadors who have served as ISA chairmen — have annually given assurances of curriculum reform and annually broken their promises. They’ve had help: The school’s accreditation by the Southern Association for Colleges and Schools was seriously flawed, since the association’s “volunteer” evaluators did not know Arabic and therefore never read the Islamic-studies curriculum. ISA’s brandishing of a recent letter by two American academic consultants to the school, giving their approval for the sanitized Wahhabi textbooks, only deepens the school’s reputation for deception.
They note that indefatigable critic of the ISA, Northern Virginia US Rep. Frank Wolf, Ranking Member of the House State Foreign Operations Appropriations Committee has introduced legislation requiring follow up monitoring by the Arabists in our State Department. Good luck.
The frustration inherent in the comments of Lafferty, and analysts like Shea and Al-Ahmed are reflected in this comment by a local Fairfax County Pastor, David Stokes, in a prescient Townhall.com op ed entitled : “Support your Local Sharia.”
Those of us in Fairfax who oppose the expansion of the Islamic Saudi Academy will likely have to concede defeat this Monday. But in doing so we will long remember – at least until the next county election – where the supervisors stood on the issue. Stay tuned.
It appears that many liberal-minded types want us to be more like Europe and their views may be ascendant these days, but those who see European-socialistic-democracy as a model for our future should pay attention to how it is being threatened by an enemy within.
As Mr. Caldwell says in his new book about what is happening there, “When an insecure, malleable, relativistic culture (Europe’s) meets a culture that is anchored, confident, and strengthened by common doctrines (Islam’s) it is generally the former than changes to suit the latter.”
That may be a dour prospect, but with people like Jim Lafferty of VAST, Denise Lee and Catherine Martin of ACT! For America Northern Virginia chapter, John Cosgrove of the Virginia Chapter of the United Americans Committee, Christine Brim of the Center for Security Policy, Shea and Al-Ahmed last night’sISA expansion approval vote is just one battle in the war against stealth Jihad in America. As the fictional President in the 1996 sci-fi film “Independence Day” portrayed by the actor Bill Pullman says in his soliloquy about doing battle with the existential threat from aliens to this planet “we will not go silently into the night.” The ISA protesters won’t and on election day next term the dhimmi members of the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors may well be turned out to pasture.
Greeley, Colorado Christian Zionist Group Protest Somali-Imposed Sharia in their Community
by Jerry Gordon (August 2009)
On Saturday, August 8th, a Greeley, Colorado pro-Israel Christian Zionist group, The Celebration Congregation will protest a Somali effort to impose Sharia in this Front Range community in the foothills of the Rockies. They are doing this to take a stand against creeping Islamization in their home community and America. They have done this before in protests against anti-Israel, pro-Palestinian groups at a Denver area Presbyterian Church and the University of Denver in 2005 and 2006.more>>>
Pascal famously wrote that had Cleopatra's nose been a little longer, she might not have been the cynosure of all eyes, and neither Antony, nor before him, Julius Caesar, would have been attracted to her, and had their legendary liasions. And had they not done so, Pascal said, the history of Egypt, and the Eastern Mediterranean, and the Roman Empire, would have not been the same, and "the face of the world" would have been different.
It's a notion that has appeal, but historians tend not to like it. Still, the practitioners of that arts-and-craft form called "Counter-Factual History" are necessarily wedded to something like the Pascalian view, for they cannot create a hypothetical which involves changing a very large institution but have to stick to such things as whether a remarkable individual would live to accomplish what, in fact, he did accomplish.
The counter-factualists do not ask "well, what if slavery had never existed" but rather "what if John Wilkes Booth had killed Lincoln in February 1861." And the most obvious examples are recent ones, those of good and ill. What if Churchill had died in 1940? Or what if Adolf Hitler: had been successfully assassinated in 1939, or 1937? When offered those hypotheticals, we begin to come close to Cleopatra and, borrowing from her pretty dimpled boys fanning her on that burning barge, Churchill and Hitler, and what they, and other important "heroes" (for Hitler, in the carlylean sense alone) did, undid, or what they undid, did.
Which brings us to the phenomenon of those who have, in different ways, been alerting the Western world to the menace of islam. Enough distinctly ptolemaic noses to satisfy Sterne's Uncle Toby. What would Italy be like today, for example, had not its most celebrated living journalist, a well-known leftist, Oriana Fallaci, not written, out of knowledge and loyalty and fury, "The Rage and the Pride"? And did not Fallaci help to prepare the way for others, such as Magdi Allam, or others who are perfectly comfortable, in Italy, in writing and speaking and thinking about Islam truthfully and unembarrassedly?
In Western Europe today, there is one political figure at present who stands out, who tells the truth about Islam, and for his pains has, in the Western press, been described, quite inaccurately I'm afraid, as "right-wing." That figure, who as his party steadily gains strength, embodies the hopes of many in and outside the Netherlands for a firm and principled stand against the suicidal behavior of politial and media elites to date, is Geert Wilders. I don't know what Geert Wilders thinks about climate change, or tax policies, or whether the draft should be re-instated, or whether the E.U. should be strengthened, or weakened, or done away with altogether. I don't know anything about him except that he understands Islam. And I also know that in some European country, a leader, and an administration, need to be put in power who will keep making the menace of Islam a supreme theme, one that will allow all those, in every threatened country of Western Europe, to declare themselves, to draw a line. It may be that Geert Wilders himself is not quite so indispensable, that others could take, at this point, his place were he to disappear or give up. But I don't think so. I don't see anyone else, as yet (though let's see what happens to Philippe de Villiers now that he has just rejoined the UMP of Sarkozy), ready to assume that mantle.
Right now, Wilders, that is a win by Geert Wilders and his party, is indispensable to furthering the Great Awakening in Western Europe.. Those outside of the Netherlands who help Wilders, and help to persuade others to help him and his party, are doing the right thing. This is not only a Dutch matter, not only a European matter, not only a matter for the West. but, rather, a matter for All The Rest. That is, it is all of the world's awakened Infidels, those who have come or may be willing to come to their senses, unafraid to recognize the obvious, who should be rooting for, and doing what they can for, Geert Wilders. Don't forget Cleopatra's nose.
Hezbollah stockpiles 40,000 rockets near Israel border
An exclusive from The Times
Three years after Israel fought a bloody war in Lebanon against Hezbollah, there are growing fears that hostilities could erupt again this time with the militant group better armed than ever.
According to Israeli, United Nations and Hezbollah officials, the Shia Muslim militia is today stronger than it was in 2006 when it took on the might of the Israeli army in a war that cost the lives of 1,191 Lebanese and 43 Israeli civilians.
Hezbollah has stockpiled up to 40,000 rockets and is training its forces to use ground-to-ground missiles capable of hitting Tel Aviv and anti-aircraft missiles that could challenge Israel’s dominance of the skies over Lebanon.
Brigadier-General Alon Friedman, the deputy head of Israel’s Northern Command, told The Times from his headquarters overlooking the Israeli-Lebanese border that the current stability was “in danger”.
He added that the peace, which has reigned over the rolling Biblical landscape for the past three years, could “explode at any minute”.
"We have changed the equation that had existed previously,” he said. “Now the southern suburbs versus Tel Aviv, and not Beirut versus Tel Aviv.”
Hezbollah’s rearming is in the name of “resistance” against Israel. But the real reason probably has more to do with its ally Iran. If Israel carries out its threat to attack Iran’s nuclear facilities, then the main retaliation is likely to come from its Hezbollah allies in Lebanon. Hezbollah is Iran’s insurance policy.
All sides agree that the threat is not a bluff. Last month the scale of the Hezbollah build-up was revealed after an explosion at a huge Hezbollah ammunition bunker in the village of Khirbet Slim, 12 miles from the Israeli border.
Surveillance footage, obtained by The Times, reveals that Hezbollah fighters desperately tried to salvage rockets and other munitions from the site, while obstructions were placed in the way of Unifil peacekeepers coming to investigate.
But while diplomats negotiate, many believe that it is too late to stop Hezbollah’s build-up.
The group, armed, trained and financed by Iran, has been engaged in a wide-scale recruitment, training and rearmament drive since the end of the 2006 war with Israel.
Although basic training on handling and firing weapons as well as field craft is taught at ad hoc camps in the mountains flanking the Bekaa Valley, more specialised courses are carried out in Iran. Hundreds of fighters have travelled to Iran since 2006, many of them on multiple trips, to acquire skills in bomb-making, anti-tank missiles, sniping and firing surface-to-surface rockets.
Hussam, a 33-year-old veteran fighter who joined Hezbollah in 1987 as a scout, said: “War will definitely come. Israel will never leave us alone. Israel is a hostile, blood-sucking country.”
Western intelligence sources have told The Times that Hezbollah fighters are also receiving training in Syria on the SA-8 system. The radar-guided SA-8 missiles are launched from tracked vehicles and have a maximum altitude of 36,000 feet, which would pose a serious threat to Israel’s dominance in the skies above Lebanon.
Israeli jets and pilotless drones penetrate Lebanese airspace on a near daily basis. Israel says that the overflights are necessary for reconnaissance purposes, although the UN considers them violations of Resolution 1701.
Danny Ayalon, the deputy Israeli Foreign Minister told The Times: “Hezbollah has not only replaced the munitions but upgraded their missiles. They are bragging now that they can hit Tel Aviv.”
Sheikh Naim Qassem, Hezbollah’s deputy leader, said in an interview with The Times: “Hezbollah today is in a better condition than it was in July 2006. And if the Israelis think they will cause more damage against us, they know that we also can inflict more damage on them.”
Some hae meat and cannae eat
Some would eat that want it
But we hae meat and we can eat
Sae let the Lord be thankit
So said Robbie Burns, who enjoyed the pleasures of the flesh, in more ways than one. Vegetarians, it goes without saying, are dreary, emaciated, life-denying prigs. To a man. Well, actually not to a man. Meat is not merely Murder – it is Masculine. They’re not called “meat balls” for nothing, after all. David Thompson:
A reader, Vaclav Lochmann, points us to an announcement for the Meet Animal Meat international conference, organised by the Centre for Gender Research at Uppsala University. Here’s a taste, as it were:
Informed by feminist investigations of embodiment and bodiliness, we ask: How do we understand our bodily relationship to other animals? How do we embody animals, and how do animals embody us? How are carnal modes of incorporation, intimacy, and inhabitation kinds of contacts forged between “HumAnimals”?
If, as Donna Haraway writes, “animals are everywhere full partners in worlding, in becoming with,” then how do embodied encounters with animal matter necessarily constitute categories of “human” and “animal”?
Wait for the clever bit.
What is the meaning of meat, and the meat of meaning?
Sadly, the opportunity to participate in the conference has come and gone. Readers are left to imagine the dizzying insights offered by the keynote speakers. Among them, Carol J. Adams, a “feminist-vegetarian theorist” and author of The Sexual Politics of Meat: A Feminist-Vegetarian Critical Theory, in which she “explores a relationship between patriarchal values and meat eating by interweaving the insights of feminism, vegetarianism and literary theory.” The book has been described by the New York Times as “a bible of the vegan community,” and in it Ms Adams advances her belief that,
What, or more precisely, who, we eat is determined by the patriarchal politics of our culture. Patriarchy is a gender system that is implicit in human/animal relationships… Manhood is constructed in our culture by access to meat eating and control of other bodies.
Meat is definitely a patriarchal conspiracy. Was not Eve, the first woman cursed with subordination, a help-meat?
Daniel Pipes in the Jerusalem Post
Those of us who argue against Shari'a are sometimes asked why Islamic law poses a problem when modern Western societies long ago accommodated Halacha, Jewish law.
The answer is easy: Islam is a missionizing religion, Judaism is not. Islamists aspire to apply Islamic law to everyone, while observant Jews seek only to live by Jewish law themselves.
Two very recent examples from the United Kingdom demonstrate the innate imperialism of Islamic law. These are the examples. Maltby. Bath. Dhimmitude is the term Bat Ye'or coined to describe subservience to Shari'a by non-Muslims.
Other Islamists focus on impeding the uncensored discussion of such topics as Muhammad and the Koran or terrorist financing; still others work to bring taxpayer-funded schools, hospitals and jails into conformity with Islamic law, not to speak of taxi cabs and municipal swimming pools. Their efforts don't always succeed but in the aggregate, they are rapidly shifting the premises of Western, and especially British, life.
Returning to pork: Both Islam and Judaism forbid the flesh of swine, so this prohibition offers a direct and revealing comparison of the two religions. Simply put, Jews accept that non-Jews eat pork but Muslims take offense. That, in brief, explains why Western accommodations to halacha have no relevance when dealing with Shari'a. And why Shari'a as public policy must be opposed.
'Terror cell' plotted suicide attack on base, court hears
Dumbledore's Army has pointed me to the reports in The Age, the Melbourne newspaper for New South Wales on the foiled plot to murder Australian soldiers at a NSW base.
A man charged over an alleged conspiracy to an attack on an army base in New South Wales put on a defiant face in court today, refusing to stand before the magistrate.
Nayef El Sayed, 25, of Glenroy, briefly appeared at Melbourne Magistrates Court this afternoon. He was remanded in custody to reappear on October 26.
El Sayed would not stand when asked to by the Magistrate Peter Reardon. When asked why, El Sayed’s lawyer, Anthony Brand, said his client would stand for no man, only for God, according to his religious beliefs.
Terror suspects arrested in morning raids arrive at the Melbourne Magistrates Court to face a series of charges.
El Sayed is charged with conspiring to do acts in preparation for a terrorist act, namely an armed attack on the Australian Army Base at Holsworthy, south west of Sydney.
Earlier, a court heard that the suspected terrorists arrested today allegedly intended to become martyrs in an attack on Holsworthy army base in New South Wales.
The Melbourne Magistrates' Court heard police believed there was a conspiracy to use weapons to fire upon Australian military personnel.
Prosecutor Nick Robinson, SC, alleged the men intended to keep shooting until they were killed or arrested.
Mr Robinson agreed with Magistrate Peter Reardon that their intention was to become martyrs.
Investigators are seeking a court order to extend their questioning of the men for eight hours.
One of the men, Saney Aweys, appeared in court handcuffed and flanked by two federal agents. He denied any connection with the men mentioned in court by Mr Robinson.
Aweys, who has not been charged and who was unrepresented, said he was a boilermaker and needed sleep after being awake for the past 30 hours.
He said the police had put him in a "small room (and) when I told them of my fatigue and tiredness they told me to have a nap with the lights on. I want it to stop now, I want to have a rest.’’
Mr Reardon granted the application for Aweys to be interviewed for eight hours from 6pm tonight. He adjourned today's hearing until 2pm for further applications to be made by the prosecution and their defense. There are videos and plenty of photographs. The juxtaposition of chin and brow covering hijab and fluffy dressing-gown of one of the inhabitants of the raided house made me smile.
Dr Caroline Lucas, Green MEP and “acknowledged expert on peace issues,” displays her usual clarity of thought:
I am delighted that European foreign ministers have finally approved a ban. It’s a real victory for the global campaign against animal cruelty, and a victory for democracy… By closing the door on fur and other seal products, the EU has taken meaningful action to reduce the scale of commercial seal killing and prove to governments that barbaric annual displays of animal cruelty will no longer be tolerated.
Barbaric. Cruel. No longer tolerated. Got that?
In an aside to this, it’s also worth noting that the Green MEPs were keen to ensure that products from traditional hunts by indigenous peoples in Canada and Greenland will not be covered by the ban.
Ah. Evidently, the barbarism, cruelty and refusal to tolerate depend not on the act itself but on who’s doing it and how traditional and indigenous they are. Traditional, indigenous cruelty is, it seems, something Dr Lucas can live with. In fact, her colleagues are “keen” to do so. Those deemed sufficiently indigenous and traditional will no doubt be immune to the activity’s “de-humanising” effects.
As David Thompson well knows, cruelty is readily forgiven by those on the Left if it is perceived to be part of an "authentic" "culture". For example, the enforced "portable seclusion", as Leila Abu-Lughod calls it, of the burkha, should not be judged because it reflects culturally variable meanings of personhood. And here's me thinking they wear it because they fear a beating, or being honour killed for the "crime" of being raped. How static is my personhood, stuck in the mud of Western notions of equality.
Muslims Angered by Verse in German Soccer Club Song
From Spiegel On line and Earth Times The verse "Muhammad Was a Prophet Who Knows Nothing About Football" in the official song of German soccer club Schalke 04 has sparked more than 100 complaints from Muslims. The club says it's looking into the matter. The song with the title "White and Blue, How I Love You" has been around for decades but only recently came to the attention of Turkish media which said it insults the Prophet.
Muslims are now demanding that the offending line be struck from the song, which is chanted by Schalke's fans before every match.
It's unclear why the song contains the reference to Muhammad given that the rest of the lyrics focus on the beauty of the team colors white and blue and on the fact that Schalke will never die.
The passage the Muslims consider insulting translates as following into English: "Mohammed was a prophet / who understood nothing about football / but from all the blaze of colour / he picked the blue and white."
According to the German folk song archive, the anthem is based on a hunting tune from 1797 which says "Mohammed is my patron! He knew real beauty. He, for whom only green was holy from all the colours."
The Schalke version was created in 1924 and the wording edited in 1963. It is sung ahead of every home game. Burhan Kesici, general secretary of the Islamic Council in Germany, called for restraint in the articulation of the protests but also urged Schalke to take action.
"It is not right that the prophet is mentioned in a club anthem. I would wish that out of respect for the Muslims in this country the Mohammed-stanza is not sung," Kesici told the Turkish-language service of the German Press Agency dpa.
The general secretary of the Central Council of Muslims in Germany, Aiman Mazyek, said: "We will not call for the song to be outlawed, but we want information about the its background. We owe that to the many Turkish fans and the players of Schalke."
While no one took offence of the third stanza up to now, Muslims in Germany have seemingly become more sensitive after the July 1 killing of Egyptian woman Marwa el-Shirbini by a right-wing extremist in a Dresden courtroom.
The incident set off a fierce round of accusations from the Muslim world that Germany was a racist, Islam-hating nation. Mazyek said that "many Muslims don't feel secure any more" after the incident.
