Canberra, Australia: Tony Smith, MP, Tells the House a Few Home Truths About Hamas

On the 29th November 2012 the Member for Casey, Tony Smith, speaking in the House of Representatives, showed that he has a pretty good idea of what Israel is up against; a better idea, certainly, than our current Foreign Minister and many others in office not only in Australia but throughout the Western world and beyond it.  He hasn't quite understood everything, but he's a lot further along the road than most.

As reproduced by Hansard.

'In so many ways the conflict between Israel and Hamas terrorists is a struggle between the enlightened values of a modern democracy and the benighted values of mediaeval (he should have said, 'Muslim' - CM) theocracy;

'a struggle between Jerusalem, where women serve as supreme court justices, and Gaza, where a woman's sworn testimony is worth half that of a man's;

'a struggle between a society in which liberty of conscience is protected and a society in which freedom of speech is rejected.

'At its essence it is a struggle between civilisation and barbarism.

Not just 'barbarism'.  Muslim barbarism, which is in a class of its own.  And he could have added: between Eros and Thanatos; between a society and religion that affirms life and a society and religion - or cult - that, obscenely, worships death and if it had the means to do so would cheerfully butcher non-Muslims by the truckload. - CM

'These are harsh words, but it is time for some straight talk, time to assess the cold, hard facts in the cold, hard light of day.

'These facts reveal that Hamas is an armed and dangerous terrorist movement with mass murder on its mind.

'It not only seeks the destruction of Israel as a political entity, but also craves the extermination of every Jewish man, woman and child.  You do not need to take my word for it.  Article 7 of the Hamas Covenant declares:

"..the Islamic Resistance Movement aspires to realize the promise of Allah, no matter how long it takes.  The Prophet, Allah's prayer and peace be upon him, says: "The hour of judgement shall not come until the Muslims fight the Jews...when the Jews hide behind trees and stones, and each tree and stone will say, 'Oh Muslim, oh servant of Allah, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him..".

I think that may be the first time that any Australian politician has actually quoted, on the floor of the House of Representatives of the Parliament of the Commonwealth of Australia, that blood-curdling passage from the Sahih Hadith of Al-Bukhari, as cited in the Hamas Covenant. I do not know how many of our MPs were present while Mr Smith, MP, was speaking; but at least those that were can no longer claim that they do not know this passage exists. I would be very curious to know whether our three Jewish federal MPs were present; or another MP, Mike Kelly, who has a Jewish wife and two sons who according to Halakha would count as Jews.  And I would also dearly like to know whether our much-ballyhooed 'first Muslim MP', Ed Husic, was there to hear Mr Smith quoting from the Bukhdari Hadith as cited approvingly by Hamas.  - CM

'In other words, the official doctrine of Hamas preaches that the coming of the Mahdi, the Islamic redeemer, will be ushered in by divinely inspired genocidal slaughter of the Jews.

And that, Mr Smith, is telling it like it is. - CM

'The movement is not very fond of gays, either.  Hamas foreign minister Mahmoud Zahar calls homosexuals 'a minority of perverts and the mentally and morally sick'.

'Nor has the Arab Christian community of Gaza fared too well under Hamas' rule.  There has not been a Christmas tree in the central square of Gaza City since Hamas seized total power in 2007.  A few years ago the Palestinian Christian manager of a Gaza Bible Society Bookstore was shot dead after being accused of evangelising on behalf of his faith.

This man, the brave Rami Ayyad, was killed as punishment for defying the sharia of Islam, which says that a dhimmi - a non-Muslim living as a subordinate to Muslims, in a Muslim-dominated society - must not try to convert Muslims to his faith. - CM

'I note in passing that the invitation to this year's government staff Christmas party features a caricature of Tony Abbott (the current leader of the Opposition - CM) as a green-faced grinch; but the real Grinch who stole Christmas is alive and well in Gaza, packing an AK-47 and wearing a green Hamas headband.

'The contempt shown by Hamas for the most fundamental principles of liberty should come as no surprise.  After all, no one should be surprised that theocrats (most especially the Muslim variety - CM) do not turn out to be democrats.

'But what is astounding is the aid and comfort offered to hardline Islamic extremists (that is, 'thoroughly orthodox Muslims waging Jihad' - CM) by hard-line Australian leftists.

'This past weekend a few hundred protesters assembled in Sydney to denounce Israel for having the temerity to defend itself from incessant Hamas rocket fire.

Like I said, Mr Smith has almost got it.  What he should have said here: "to denounce Israel for having the temerity to defend itself against genocidal Jihad" - CM.

'The Greens were there, Marxists were there and so were some jihadi sympathizers.

'It was bizarre to see advocates of same-sex marriage parading shoulder to shoulder with advocates of a global caliphate who think that homosexuals should swing at the end of a rope.

'But as the TV footage showed, there were banners of the Greens and Socialist Alternative flag flying alongside the Hezbollah flag.

'Speaking from the podium was the most fanatical opponent of Israel in this parliament, Greens Senator Lee Rhiannon.

'While speaking on the Middle East, I would be remiss if I did not mention this government's disgraceful reversal of policy at the United Nations.  Foreign Minister Carr describes Australia's decision to abstain from the General Assembly vote on the elevation of Palestine's status as 'a good compromise'.

'But it was no compromise.  It was a cave-in.  It was a cave-in by a beleaguered Prime Minister prepared to sacrifice anything, including support for Israel, on the altar of her own political survival.

'We all want to see a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, but this will only be possible when those pledged to Israel's destruction finally see the error of their ways.

And that's where we need Mary Jackson's red pen...

What he might have said, if he were brave enough:

'So long as the world's Muslims remain Muslim, and therefore committed to the sixth pillar of their faith, Jihad fi sabil allah, there will be no peace in the Middle East nor anywhere else, and the dream of a "two-state solution" will be nothing but a snare and a delusion.' - CM

'The upgrade of Palestine's status at the UN will set back the prospects of peace.  It will embolden Palestinians to think they can get their way without any need to...[Time expired]."

That was a pretty good speech, Mr Smith, MP.  It certainly looks as though you have been doing your homework.  If you persevere, you may even manage to wake up some of your parliamentary colleagues.  And then not only Israel but Australia will be a great deal safer. - CM

No Muslim woman as receptionist, says fatwa

From The Indian Express

Leading Islamic seminary Darul Uloom Deoband has issued a fatwa against the appointment of Muslim women as receptionists, calling it illegal and against Sharia law. “Muslim women working in offices as receptionist is un-Islamic because Muslim women are not allowed to appear before men without veil.”

Meanwhile, Mufti Zulfikar Ali, Muslim cleric and president of UP Imam organisation, upheld the fatwa and said Muslim women can work in institutions after wearing the veil but the work of a receptionist is to constantly interact with people, which should not be practised.

A Sharia Financier in the TN Governor’s Office

Arnold Ahlert writes in Frontpage:

In Tennessee last May, Republican Gov. Bill Haslam appointed Samar Ali as international director of the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development (ECD). Attempts to connect her to stealth jihad have been ridiculed. Yet when one connects the dots between Ali and several organizations and individuals, a number of troubling relationships arise, especially regarding the phenomenon known as Sharia-compliant finance (SCF).

SCF is best explained by Deroy Murdock in a 2008 column: “Turn your clock back 70 years. Imagine that Wall Street banks and brokerages sold Nuremberg-compliant bonds and stock funds in 1938,” he writes. “American Nazi sympathizers bought financial instruments certified by Berlin-based advisors as free of ‘Jewish profits’ from, say, Salomon Brothers and Bloomingdale’s.”

That’s the first half the equation. Then comes the far more important second half. “In turn, a percentage of such funds’ gains underwrote pro-Nazi charities, like the German-American Bund, and similar organizations in the Fatherland, like the Hitler Youth.” In short, Murdock is using an apt analogy to illuminate the true nature of SCF: it is a money-laundering operation used to underwrite international terrorism.

Samar Ali was appointed as a member of the 2010-2011 class of White House Fellows. Her bio noted that she was an associate with the firm Hogan Lovells US LLP, responsible for counseling clients on mergers and acquisitions, cross-border transactions and Sharia-compliant financial transactions. In fact, the Hogan law firm specializes in SCF, calling it “one of the fastest growing financial sectors” in the world, with projections reaching more than $2.8 trillion by 2015. “Robust demand has led to new challenges for the Islamic finance industry…Indeed, many eminent Sharia scholars commonly recommend us to financial institutions that approach them for advice,” the firm reveals.

The White House press release also noted that Ali is “a founding member of the first U.S. Delegation to the World Islamic Economic Forum” (WIEF). The Shariah Finance Watch blog noted, “[I]t was at the World Islamic Economic Forum where key leaders declared Shariah finance to be ‘dawa’ (missionary) activity to promote Islam and Shariah.”

Listed as a member of the WEIF’s International Advisory Panel is Saleh Abdullah Kamel, who is also a founding member of the Al Shamal Islamic Bank. The Al Shamal Islamic Bank was established by Osama bin Laden to fund jihadists and terrorism across the globe. Furthermore, the WEIF is a subsidiary of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). The OIC is a bloc of 57 Muslim countries currently pressuring Western countries to make criticism Islam or Mohammed an international crime. Such suppression of free speech is another integral part of Sharia law.

Ali also worked as a legal intern for the Islamic International Arab Bank (IIAB) where she “rotated through various banking units,” gaining exposure to SCF products and related contracts. According to its website, the IIAB “commenced its banking operations in accordance with Islamic Sharia rules” in 1998. According to Der Spiegel, the bank offered a type of life insurance payable to the families of Palestinian suicide bombers. “The funds take a circuitous route to the accounts of those families that prove the death of their son by showing a death certificate at the Arab Bank branch in the Palestinian Territories,” the article states.

When Ali was appointed, several GOP county organizations criticized Gov. Haslam for allowing her to work in his administration, with at least two passing resolutions asserting a link between Ali and SCF. Like others, they were undoubtedly concerned that Ali’s appointment might make Tennessee an attractive place to conduct Sharia-compliant financial transactions.

Yet for making such information known, and opposing her appointment, Ali’s critics were attacked. ”In Tennessee, A Rising Star Targeted By Anti-Muslim Smears,” is the title of an article that completely dismisses such concerns, especially those made by the “Frank Gaffney-led Center for Security Policy–a hub of Islamophobia,” as completely without merit. Another article refers to any criticism of Ali’s appointment as “McCarthy-esque dot-connecting” similar to “the paranoia in Washington, D.C.” regarding charges made against Hillary Clinton’s aide, Huma Abedin, and her association with the Muslim Brotherhood. (That Huma Abedin’s mother belongs to the Muslim Sisterhood is apparently irrelevant.)

Also apparently irrelevant are the questionable associations of Samar Ali’s father, Dr. Subhi Ali. From 2005 until the present, Dr. Ali has served as the Chairman of the Jerusalem Fund. On its website, the Jerusalem Fund claims it is ”an independent, non-profit, non-political, non-sectarian organization based in Washington, D.C.” Yet the language used to describe its programs reveals a distinctly anti-Israeli slant, emphasizing such concepts as the Palestinian “Right of Return,” and referring to Israel as “the Occupied Territory.” Articles on the site also refer to Israel’s occupation of Palestine, Israeli “apartheid,” and how the two-state solution is “morally debased’ and “antiquated.” The site attempts to obscure its biased agenda with a disclaimer at the bottom of each article, stating that such views “do not necessarily reflect those of The Jerusalem Fund.”

Yet the Fund has also been associated with several people and organizations with links to terrorism. Its founder, Dr. Hisham Sharabi, PhD., was on the Board of Trustees of World and Islam Studies Enterprise (WISE), an organization incorporated by Sami Al-Arian as an Islamic think tank. Al-Arian was sentenced to 57 months in jail for conspiracy to “make or receive funds…for the benefit of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad” (PIJ). Tarik Hamdi, identified as an officer/staff member of WISE, is listed in a federal affidavit as providing material support to Al-Qaeda, Bin Laden and the PIJ.

Other WISE board members include Taha Jabir al Alwani, an unindicted co-conspirator in the same Holy Land Foundation case that resulted in Al-Arian’s conviction; Basheer Nafi, who was charged with “conspiracy to murder, maim or injure persons outside the United States;” Ramadan Abdullah, aka Ramadan Shallah, on the FBI’s Most Wanted List as a “Specially Designated Terrorist;” and Mazin an Najjar, a founding member of WISE, arrested on secret FBI evidence revealing his support for terrorism.

Yet as far as “see no Islamic evil” politicians, both Democrats and Republicans, Americans in general, and Tennesseans in particular, are supposed to believe that Samar Ali was either completely unaware of these associations, or that none of them are germane with regard to her position as a director of Tennessee’s ECD. Moreover, none of these associations should be questioned, criticized or investigated — lest one be branded Islamophobic for daring to do so.

In the prevailing political climate, such an attitude is to be expected. During the presidential campaign, Americans were told by President Obama that al-Qaeda is “on the run,” even as four Americans were murdered in Benghazi, and the ensuing disinformation campaign blaming it on a video was perpetrated by a willing media. The “Arab Spring” has been an equally enduring myth that is rapidly coming undone, as Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi brutally consolidates his Muslim Brotherhood-dominated dictatorship. The administration now considers it “feasible” to move Guantanamo Bay terrorists to U.S. prisons, even as potential terror attacks to free them are ignored. Thus, for the true believers, the potential of Sharia finance occurring in Tennessee, or anywhere else in the country for that matter, is nothing more than the stuff of overwrought imaginations “Islamophobia.”

In an essay entitled “Islamic Finance or Financing Islamism,”Alex Alexiev, senior analyst with the national security division of the Rand Corporation, contends that if Western banks endorse Sharia finance, they will “end up becoming what Lenin called useful idiots or worse to the Islamists. And it is a very thin line between that and outright complicity in the Islamist agenda.” When the only reasons for endorsing Sharia fiance come down to willful blindness, or outright collaboration with Islamic terror, America’s political priorities are seriously out of whack.

Dutch linesman killed: amateur matches cancelled as three youths charged

This English language report is from The Telegraph

Every amateur football match in Holland will be cancelled this weekend and professional players will all wear black armbands as a mark of respect for the volunteer linesman who died following a vicious assault. Three players – two 15-year-olds and a 16-year-old – are to be charged with manslaughter, assault and public violence for their alleged involvement in the attack

Nieuwenhuizen, who was 41, had volunteered to be a linesman in the game between Buitenboys and Nieuw Sloten in which his son was playing.

Investigations into the incident are still ongoing and prosecutors have released no details of a possible motive. They did say, however, that a group of Nieuw Sloten players surrounded Nieuwenhuizen after Sunday’s match, kicking and punching him.

Nieuwenhuizen initially appeared to have recovered from the assault but, after going home and later returning to watch another match at the club, he collapsed. With his family surrounding him, he later died in hospital.

Nieuw Sloten immediately banned the players involved and withdrew their team from the league. Amsterdam alderman Eric van der Burg, whose portfolio in the city covers sports, said the team from Nieuw Sloten had been in trouble twice before, once for verbally abusing a referee and once when a player got into a fight with a spectator.

None of the reports say anything about the boys other than their age. Except this one in Dutch from De Telegraaf. Marcel East the clubs chairman witnessed the attack on his friend.

Gisteravond was hij nog even aanspreekbaar in het ziekenhuis. Hij herkende me: ’Hé Marcel, alles goed?

"Last night he was still as approachable in the hospital.  He recognized me, "Hey Marcel, okay? " What a ** k football, huh, "he said."   "He talked a bit confusing, but nevertheless made a positive impression and thought he would recover again. It's the last time I did this golden football friend may speak . . . After the final whistle gave almost all players the referee a hand to thank him for the leadership.  Only the three Moroccan players of Nieuw Sloten walked to our linesman, pulled him to the ground and started on his head and neck to kick ",

It was a Moroccan who killed Theo van Gogh. Moroccans regularly threaten and beat up gay men in Amsterdam. Moroccan 'loverboys' rape Dutch girls and drag them into drug addiction and prostitution.

Muslim Men Show Their Great Respect For Muslim Women in the Usual Manner in Egypt

Maha ElGenaidi, please pay attention. These men don't have to worry about being prosecuted thanks to the overthrow of Mubarak. NBC News:

Updated at 7:48 a.m. ET: CAIRO - Walaa Al Momtaz doesn’t leave her home for up to five days at a time. The neatly veiled 22-year-old misses her friends at City University, where she studies English and German, but what she faces upon leaving her house defeats her.

Men and boys constantly harass and threaten Al Momtaz on the bus, on the street and at the university.

"Every day men talk to me in a bad way, laugh at me and say things about what I am wearing," she told NBC News. On a recent bus trip, a man stuck his hand through a gap in the seat to touch her.

Al Momtaz has gotten off relatively lightly.

On Nov 25, Al-Ahram state newspaper reported three women were sexually assaulted during anti-Morsi demonstrations by hundreds of men.

In September, Eman Mostafa, 16, was gunned down after she spit in the face of a man who harassed her in the province of Assiut, according to police reports.

The Feb. 11, 2011, attack on CBS News' Lara Logan as she filed a report for "60 Minutes" in Tahrir Square, epicenter of the uprising that forced dictator Hosni Mubarak to step down last year, brought international attention to the problem of sex attacks on women in public places.

Public violence against women was rampant well before the movement that unseated Mubarak in 2011. According to a 2008 study by an Egyptian NGO, 83 percent of women have been victims of harassment.

In the post-Mubarak era, activists and protesters have reported many particularly violent assaults on women. Some experts allege the government and security officials are failing to take the problem seriously. More than 700 claims of harassment were filed across Egypt over the four-day Id al-Adha holiday in late October.

Egypt's Morsi flees palace as protesters battle cops

"It is not a country of law, not a state of law anymore. It has given men a chance to harass women without being accused," said Afaf Marie, director of the Egyptian Association for Community Participation and Enhancement, an NGO.

Some activists fear that women's rights will suffer under the rule of President Mohammed Morsi, who is an Islamist.

Breaking News: Megamosque Nixed for Now

Esmerelda, our Roving Reporter (this is not a time to avoid clichés),  has just phoned/texted from the heart of the protest near Stratford Old Town Hall to say that permission for the Megamosque has been refused.

The decision must be ratified by the office of Boris Johnson, non-Lord Mayor of London, who had better not turn again. There may also be an appeal.

Esmerelda will file a full report when she gets back.

London Borough of Newham deliberation on the proposed Riverine Mosque

To Stratford Old Town Hall on the evening that the London Borough of Newham made their decision on the latest proposals from Tabighli Jamaat for their Riverine Mosque. For our non-English readers this is not Stratford on Avon where Shakespeare came from; this is Stratford atte Bow (as it was when Chaucer mentioned it) in East London.

The planning meeting was scheduled to start at 7pm with the doors opening to the public from 6pm. Haitham al Hadadd, while not a member of TJ, himself said that this was a landmark for Islam in the heart of London to benefit all the ummah and he called upon 15,000 Muslims to line the entrance. I arrived shortly before 5pm and there were already about 500 people, no I'll rephrase that, 500 Muslims, identifiable from their Islamic dress, lined up outside the Old Town Hall. I had heard that the hall would take 200 people, and that admission was on a first come first served basis. I knew immediately that I had no chance of getting inside. More and more Muslims were arriving every minute, 95% men, but a few women, many in niqabs were on the edges with their mahrams.

They poured out of the station and through the Stratford Centre, ignoring the blandishments of the men selling Sky TV deals. Two valiant women sang hymns on the pavement by the Broadway.

They were silent and well behaved, no chanting, no crys of 'Allah Akbar' and 'Takfir!'. The banners announced that this Islamic Association, or that Masjid (several different Mosques from around the borough) supported the Riverine Mosque. Individuals carried small posters printed with one of two alternatives; either "Sir Robin (Newham Mayor)  take notice WE are your voters" or "After 15 years waiting Riverine Mosque now". My camera is not at its best at night but there are a selection below.

I got talking to people as they came out of the Stratford Centre. Every non-Muslim  I spoke to, black or white thought that the Mosque was too big, and one mosque too many. A policeman told me that the original intention was to send 15 officers to police the crowd. That was revised considerably by this morning. By the time the meeting was due to open there were about 3000 Muslims outside the Town hall, down the side streets and across the road. I fell in with some friends and we moved away from the main concourse.

Afterwards I was able to speak to some people who had managed to get inside. They told me that the speakers against the Mosque were several local residents, a Newham Councillor and the Borough Planning Officer. Speaking on behalf of the Mosque were one of the elders and their own specialist planning consultant. Alan Craig of Megamosque Nothanks was present in the area but did not attend the meeting itself. The vote was unanimous against the proposed plans.

A councillor interviewed for BBC local London news said that the reason was because the Mosque was one huge structure on the site, to benefit only one section of the community, bringing no homes and no permanent new jobs.

As the site is one that had been earmarked for 'strategic development' (which begs the question how TJ managed to purchase the old factory site in the first place) the decision has to be ratified by Mayor of London, Boris Johnson. He is known to favour the decisions made by Councils, and the Mosque will not provide the mix of housing, industry and retail use which he expects on a 'strategic' site.

The Mosque elders told the BBC that they intend to appeal, taking the matter to Judicial review in necessary. That is expensive, but we know that TJ are not short of funds.

All in all a very satisfactory evening.
