Wanted revenge on Hindus

From the BBC

A Muslim arrested in the UK carried out bombings in India 17 years ago to "get revenge" on Hindus, his extradition hearing in London has been told. Mohammed Hanif Umerji Patel allegedly financed attacks with funds donated to a refugee camp he helped set up, Westminster Magistrates' Court heard.India is seeking Mr Patel, known as Tiger Hanif, over two blasts in Surat, Gujarat, which killed a girl of eight. He was traced to a grocery shop in Bolton by UK police.

The court heard he had a prominent role in setting up the camp for Muslims made homeless during religious unrest in Surat in 1992.

Prosecutor Clare Montgomery QC said: "The refugee camp had a fund that was set up to collect donations and it was agreed by this defendant and three other witnesses that the fund would be employed to buy weapons." They planned to throw a live grenade into a busy market on 27 January 1993, but aborted the plot when they saw police, she explained. They successfully exploded the device at the same site the next day, killing an eight-year-old girl on her way home from school.

The prosecutor said a second attack took place in April 1993 at a railway station to stop a planned Hindu rally. "Once again, a live grenade exploded into the crowd - mercifully no-one was killed but there were a series of injuries," she told the hearing.

If extradited, Mr Patel will face allegations of conspiracy to murder and conspiracy to cause an explosion. He is also accused of helping one of the bombers escape by giving him cash, a weapon and a passport.

I can't see a problem with extradiction to India.

Historical Jihad Interlude: anti-Ahmadiyya Punjab riots of 1953

Here are some quotations from the Pakistani government report of the Court of Inquiry following the Punjab riots of 1953:

(Page 17 - 18)

According to the view propounded by the leading ulama before us the punishment for apostasy (irtidad) in Islam is death. If, therefore, Ahmadis are kafirs, a person who becomes an Ahmadi renders himself liable to the capital punishment. This doctrine seems to be in force in Afghanistan as part of the law of the land and several persons there have paid the supreme penalty for their un-Islamic beliefs. The first Ahmadi to experience the rigour of this law was one Abdur Rahman Khan who was executed in the time of Amir Abdur Rahman Khan. The second was Abdul Latif who was stoned to death in 1903 during the reign of Amir Habibullah Khan. Abdul Latif was an Afghan national who, after living for sometime with Mirza Ghulam Ahmad at Qadian, had himself become an Ahmadi. When he returned to Afghanistan in 1903, he was declared by the Ulama to be a murtadd for having become an Ahmadi and was ordered to be put to death. He was fixed alive in the ground up to the waist and was then stoned to death. The same fate befell one Ne'matullah Khan who, on the ground of his having become an Ahmadi, was declared by the ulama of Afghanistan to be a murtadd and on 31st August 1924 was publicly stoned to death at Sherkot.

The execution of Ne'matullah Khan gave rise in India to some controversy about the punishment of apostasy in Islam. Maulana Shabbir Ahmad Usmani, a scholar of Deoband, wrote on the subject a pamphlet called 'Ash-shahab'. The first part of this document was devoted to establishing that Ahmadis were apostates (murtadds) and the second to proving that the appropriate penalty in Islam for apostasy (irtidad) is death.

This pamphlet had remained in oblivion for about thirty years bat [sic] some-time before March 1950, Qazi Ehsan Ahmad Shujabadi obtained the permission of its author who had now become Sheikh-ul-Islam-i-Pakistan, to reprint and publish it.

Note that this Islamic scholar (Maulana Shabbir Ahmad Usmani), after laying out the Islamic justification for the murder of Ahmadiyya, was promoted to being one of the top Islamic scholars.  Note also that just because an Islamic justification for the murder of apostates is buried in oblivion for 30 years, it does not lose its power to motivate and encourage murder if left unchallenged (and of course, within Islam, there is no challenge possible).  At any time, the ummah may become devout again, and again the words of the Qur'an and the sunna are there to guide them.

The permission was granted and the pamphlet began constantly to be quoted and cited as a fatwa in the speeches of the Ahrar. In a public meeting held in Company Bagh, Rawalpindi, from 14th to 16th April 1950, almost every speaker appealed to the audience to purchase copies of the 'Ash-shahab'. This was reported to Mr. Anwar Ali, D.I.G., C.I.D., who, by his note, dated the 20th March 1950, drew the attention of the Chief Secretary to the possibility of a person's getting incited by the fatwa and killing some Ahmadi. Mr. Anwar Ali, however, expressed the opinion that for obvious reasons it was not advisable to take any action against the publication and contented himself merely by suggesting that Master Taj-ud-Din Ansari and other Ahrar leaders who were becoming unbridled should be sent for and formally administered a warning.

Brace yourself for a shock:  a warning was not enough to convince jihadis to stop their violence.

(Page 24)

The effect of the wide publication of the 'Ash-shahab' and the campaign, of hatred which the Ahrar were strenuously carrying on against the Ahmadis, brought definite and natural results. Muhammad Ashraf, a youth of 19, murdered an Ahmadi schoolmaster named Ghulam Muhammad at Okara. The following is the story of this murder :

On 1st October 1950 Maulvi Nur Din, who was an Ahmadi, together with seven other Ahmadis, went on a propaganda (tabligh) expedition to Chak No. 5. The propagandists were surrounded by the non-Ahmadis of the locality who started throwing mud on them, blackened their faces and had them driven through filthy water to Railway Station Okara. The incident was reported to the police and one Maulvi Fazal Ilahi was arrested under sections 147 and 342 of the Penal Code. As a protest against this arrest, shops closed down in Okara and a public meeting was held on the night of 3rd October which was attended by several thousand people. The audience was addressed by several speakers who made highly inflammatory speeches. One speaker appealed to the young men present in the meeting to get rid of the Mirzai nuisance. On the following day Muhammad Ashraf who was listening to the speeches, armed himself with a knife, pursued Ghulam Muhammad while he was on his way to Okara, overtook him near a canal and stabbed him. Ghulam Muhammad was seriously injured and expired before he was taken to the police station.

(Page 30)

[O]n the afternoon of 13th May, 1951, a mob of non-Ahmadis (Ahrar) of Samundri town in Lyallpur district collected together and set fire to the mats and roof of the kacha mosque consisting of one room and a platform built on evacuee land in the vicinity of District Board School.  Some members of the Ahmadiya community who happened to be present on the spot were assaulted.

(Page 34)

On receipt of this letter, Mr. Anwar Ali, D.I.G., C.I.D., on 1st October 1951, wrote the following note on the sectarian position as it existed in the Province :

"The Ahrar have exceeded the bounds of decency and have been making sacrilegious attacks against Ahmadis. They have even been responsible for provoking violence against the Ahmadis. At Okara, one Ahmadi was killed as a result of the tension which followed the speeches made by the Ahrar. At a village near Okara, Ahmadi preachers were waylaid and their faces blackened. At Rawalpindi, an Ahmadi was killed, although it could not be clearly established that the murder was communal. At Samundri, an Ahmadi mosque was set fire to and reduced to ashes. About three years ago, a young PAMC doctor, who was an Ahmadi, was attacked at Quetta and stoned to death. For all this violence the responsibility lies on the Ahrar.

2. Shia-Sunni differences have been reported from different parts of the Province. The incident at village Shahpur Kanjra, where a child of 3 and a woman were killed, was, however, the first incident in which Shias became the victims of communal violence.

3. At Gujranwala, sectarian tension existed between the Sunnis and the Wahabis.  The difference arose over the number of travih which should be read in the month of Ramazan.

4. The immediate problem is to deal with the Ahrar. A warning has already been issued and I suggest that if this warning is not heeded, firm action should be taken. Government must also do everything to promote amity between Shias and Sunnis".

Can't you just feel the love?  The peace and tolerance of Islam?

(Page154 - 155)

[4th March, 1953] The military, apparently under orders from headquarters, stopped patrolling, and one or two Companies even returned to the Cantonment from the Jinnah Garden. Several processions were taken out and dispersed. One of these surrounded the Ahmadiya Buildings and was dispersed by a mild lathi-charge by A. S. I. Muhammad Akram. Streams of volunteers had now started pouring into Lahore by rail and by road. A batch of volunteers from Sargodha was dispersed by Sub-Inspector Muhammad Hamid near the Naulakha Police Station. Another batch of 110 Ahrar volunteers on the Brandreth Road was met by Sayyad Hasanat Ahmad, City Magistrate, Malik Khan Bahadur, Superintendent of Police and Sayyad Firdaus Shah, Deputy Superintendent of Police. The volunteers refused to disperse and reached Chowk Dalgran where they were tear-gassed. They would still not disperse and sat on the ground. A lathi-charge proving ineffective, they were lifted bodily, put into trucks and taken away. False rumours about this incident began at once to be circulated. It was given out that the police, in dispersing the volunteers, had profaned the Holy Qur'an by kicking and tearing it, and killed a small boy. At a meeting held outside Delhi Gate a boy was produced, holding in his hand some torn leaves of the Holy Book, who said that he was an eyewitness of the sacrilegious incident. A maulvi, probably Maulvi Muhammad Yusuf, took these leaves of the Book in hand, held them out to the audience and made a violent speech, infuriating the already excited crowd. The faked incident became a public topic for excited crowds and spread like wild fire throughout the city within a few hours, creating feeling of anger and hatred against the police.

(Page 156)

Other tactics resorted to by the agitators to spread hatred of authority were:

(1) circulation of leaflets to the effect that more than a thousand persons had been shot down in Jhang and Sargodha whereas the truth was that not a single bullet had been-fired that day in either of these places;

(2) spreading the rumour that Ahmadis were going about in cars shooting down people indiscriminately;

(3) announcement from the Wazir Khan Mosque that Government servants had struck work and joined the movement; and

(4) spreading reports that the district police had refused to fire and that it was the Border Police and the Constabulary Police alone who were firing.

The allegation that some Ahmadis clad in military uniform went about in a jeep indiscriminately shooting people has been made the subject-matter of proof before us and several witnesses have been called in support of it. But though some mysterious vehicle with some unidentified men in it seems to have moved about on this day, there is no evidence before us that the occupants of this vehicle were Ahmadis or that the vehicle itself was the property of an Ahmadi.

Of course, all of this is just leading up to the riots themselves, in which Sunnis murdered police and 2,000 Ahmadiyya, burned down government and Ahmadiyya buildings, looted and burned businesses, and burned vehicles and smashed their windows.

There is nothing all that surprising in these accounts themselves;  what is interesting is their banality.  We've heard all this before, many times over.  It's the same old techniques: false rumors of desecrated Qur'ans, false rumors of Muslims as victims of imagined violence leading quickly to real non-Muslim victims of real violence.  A hoax of an innocent Muslim boy "martyred", as in the case of Mohammad al Dura.  They're still using the same old playbook, and we're still falling for their old gags, right up to the present.

This document was written in 1953, before the current wave of post 9/11 taqiyya began.  It includes a straightforward description of and justification for jihad (pages 191 and 221), and they don't mean an internal philosophical process of self-improvement.  Likewise for dhimmitude (page 212), apostasy (page 218), and so on.  It's all refreshingly candid, as there were no kuffar paying any attention whatsoever.  There was no need to try to hoodwink anyone.  There was no attempt to blame the actions of the Muslims on U.S. missile strikes, as there was in today's Sunni-on-Sufi bombing. Then as now, Muslims will destroy mosques of different sects.  Then as now, Muslims will murder Muslims of other sects.

Tensions high as Vilks finishes disputed lecture

From The Swedish edition of The Local

Four people were refused entry to a lecture given by controversial Swedish artist Lars Vilks at Uppsala University on Thursday after going through a security check.

"They were already turned away at the security checkpoint and were never in the lecture hall," Uppsala Police press spokesman Christer Nordström told newspaper Expressen on Thursday. Nordström did not disclose why the four people were turned away. Late last month, the university invited Vilks to complete his talk on freedom of speech which he first attempted to give at the university in May.

Vilks' talk on Thursday touched on themes including violence, cruelty and injustice, and demarcating borders within the art world. "In many ways, it has a very fitting title," he told the audience.

The lecture hall was filled with spectators, including many journalists, as well as a large number of security guards and police. Journalists and audience members lined up in the rain on Thursday as they waited to pass through security checks at the entrance.

The police presence was substantial, which about 130 officers dispatched to the lecture. Barricades were also erected as an extra precaution against possible disruptions. The cost of the operation was estimated at 700,000 kronor ($104,907), according to news agency TT

Some commentors feel this was a waste of money - others that free speech is priceless and that other savings can be made to the public budget of Sweden.

Banana Republic Britain

Paul Weston writes at Gates of Vienna (with thanks to The Law):

As the haunting wail of the Muezzin - recently described by Barack Obama as the sweetest sound in the world - roused the slumbering Pakistani inhabitants of Mirpur, Kashmir, to Morning Prayer, young Sammy Mohammed was awakened somewhat more brutally by the boot of local Mirpurian MP, Sultan Mehmood Chaudhry.

"By 'eck Sammy lad, tha lazy young beggar, tha'll not be thwarting democracy in Britain by festering in t'pit all day, by gum. Hand over them proxy votes sharpish, me lad, lest tha want thy backside tanning!"

The beginning of a satirical article? I am afraid not. It is routine practice for dual-nationality Pakistanis residing in Kashmir to sign thousands of proxy vote forms for the British General Election, in order that their Pakistani brothers in Britain may use them to subvert our democracy.

One "British" Mirpuri resident described the blind signing of the electoral proxy votes thus:

"They said I didn't have to fill in any details, just to sign my name at the bottom of the form," he says, smiling. "So I signed two...I personally know 25 other people who did the same thing, lots of people just on this street, but everybody does it."

Having collected thousands of forms, Pakistani politicians such as Sultan Chaudry hop on the Kashmiri red-eye to Britain, where they distribute said forms amongst the many Muslims in our vibrantly diverse, exotic and eclectic multicultural cities, whilst advising them where their fraudulent vote should be cast to best represent their decidedly un-diverse and un-vibrant 7th Century mono-culture. In a BBC interview conducted in Manchester, Chaudry said:

"I'm here for the 6 May election. I always come during's basically so I can tell people how to vote and who to vote for...most of the Pakistanis here are from Mirpur, and I am the MP from Mirpur, and I know the issues here and who will be the best candidates to help solve the issues in Kashmir."

Even more astonishing than Pakistani politicians visiting Britain to tell the "British" electorate who to fraudulently vote for in order to solve the Kashmir Question, is the positively surreal concept of British politicians travelling to Pakistan to woo the local vote for precisely the same reason. That this actually happens is a damning indictment on how reliant Labour/Socialist politicos have become on the Third World vote if they are ever to regain power.

Many people will be flabbergasted that such Third World practices can occur in Great Britain. These flabbergastees however, do tend to be foreign. The British, immersed in a cauldron of rapidly warming multicultural soup and floating alongside a clearly overheating yet curiously blasé frog, have been subjected to such a relentless barrage of propaganda over such a lengthy period of time that most fail to realise what is being done to both themselves and their country.

And it gets much worse.

A few thousand peripatetic Kashmiri proxy votes pale into insignificance when compared to the postal voting fraud that is now endemic in what was once the seat of European democracy. When the Labour Party introduced postal voting on demand, they did so in the full knowledge it would create massive fraud, yet were more than happy knowing that the fraud would benefit Labour above all other parties.

How does one apply for a postal vote, or even multiple postal votes? Simply download a form from the Electoral Commission, make up a name(s) and address, and one or more postal votes will miraculously appear on your doormat. It does not need to be your own name, of course, and if you are one of the 100 bogus-named people living in a solitary two-bedroomed flat in Tower Hamlets, it is unlikely you will even be investigated, particularly if you register at the last possible moment before the election.

In other words, you do not need to exist in order to gain multiple postal votes. Taking it even further, some houses do not even exist! A row of terraced properties may end at number 64, but whilst the wraith like apparitions of numbers 66-70 may not actually exist in reality, the local postman, Mr Abdul Aziz, knows very well where he should deliver the extra 200 postal votes designated for the non-people within the non-houses.

CAIR & Robert Pape's Book Sales

From Steve Emerson's Investigative Project on Terrorism:

University of Chicago political scientist Robert Pape, whose research finds religious extremism has a limited role in suicide bombings, is working secretly with a suspected Hamas front to pump up sales of his new book, the Investigative Project on Terrorism has learned. That includes a secret agreement by CAIR to have its chapters around the country to buy them in bulk so they can manipulate the sales to move up the bestseller ranks. Pape is also scheduled to appear at this weekend's national banquet for the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR)

Cutting the Fuse: The Explosion of Global Suicide Terrorism and How to Stop It, is Pape's latest project touting his thesis that religion is not a prime factor in suicide bombings. Rather, it is a response to occupation, he argues.

That's appealing to CAIR, which court records show was part of a Hamas-support network in the United States. Prosecutors say CAIR, which touts itself as the nation's leading Muslim civil rights organization, never withdrew from the conspiracy to support Hamas politically and financially. And the FBI cut off communication with CAIR in 2008, saying it won't resume until "we can resolve whether there continues to be a connection between CAIR or its executives and HAMAS."

Emails reviewed by the Investigative Project on Terrorism show Pape reached out to CAIR this past summer, hoping to have the Hamas-front group buy 1,000 advanced copies of his new book. Pape asserted in his emails and other communications to CAIR that the book would advance and reinforce CAIR's ideological views that it is the occupation of Arab lands that causes suicide bombings. CAIR's officials responded with enthusiasm to Pape's thesis and to his proposal for bulk purchases to artificially boost his rankings into the best seller lists.

"Pre-orders are especially helpful," Pape wrote on his University of Chicago email account, "because they allow the press to increase the advertising for the book when it is published, and so help to build momentum for the message in the book -- that ending Western occupation of Muslim countries is the best path for reducing the spread of suicide terrorism."

Pape did not respond to an email seeking comment. CAIR's national banquet is scheduled for Saturday evening outside Washington, D.C. In a release, CAIR says Pape will be on hand promoting his book. The release says Pape will participate in a workshop on "Challenging Islamophobia" and quotes CAIR Executive Director Nihad Awad:

"This groundbreaking new book offers a powerful educational tool to be used in challenging Islamophobia that is based on the false linkage between Islam and suicide terrorism."

It is common in publishing for an author to try generating sales, said Daniel Pipes, director of the Middle East Forum. But "there's an underhanded quality to this transaction," because it involves an academic pushing a questionable theory with a group trying to deny the existence of Islamist violence. And Pipes added that this agreement is especially scandalous since it involves a professor at a leading university secretly collaborating with a Hamas front group.

Nidal Malik Hasan's shooting rampage at Fort Hood provides a clear example of the problems with Pape's thesis. In the aftermath of the massacre that killed 13 people and wounded 30 others, CAIR issued a statement saying no religion could justify it. Officials later tried to blame mental illness for the attack. Subsequent investigation made it clear Hasan had been in email communication with Imam Anwar al-Awlaki, whom Hasan may have met when Awlaki was a spiritual leader at the Dar al-Hijrah mosque in Virginia.

Today, Awlaki is considered a leading Al Qaida recruiter who relies on Quranic messages to attract followers.

Pape would argue that Hasan acted to stop U.S. troops from going to Afghanistan, furthering the occupation theory. But, Pipes notes, Hasan saw the American forces as Crusaders going to kill Muslims, so his entire perspective was colored by his religious identity. In hailing him as a hero, Awlaki called Hasan "a man of conscience who could not bear living the contradiction of being a Muslim and serving in an army that is fighting against his own people."

Pape's theory "changes the subject, denying the realities and is helpful to the Islamists because they can say it has nothing to do with us," Pipes said.

Pape's request for CAIR to help manufacture book sales marks an escalation in what already was a warm relationship between the two. He has spoken at several CAIR functions, including a 2007 symposium on "Islamophobia" in Fort Lauderdale, a banquet that same year in Cleveland and a 2008 dinner in which Pape provided the keynote address for the Oklahoma City chapter. And CAIR officials already tout Pape's work regularly. Among some examples:

  • Hussam Ayloush, CAIR's Los Angeles executive director, threw in a reference during a Washington Post online chat in August. "As for the issue of violent suicide attackers," he wrote, "I suggest reading the book 'Dying to Win' by Professor Robert Pape. Very enlightening."
  • In August 2006, Nihad Awad cited Pape's research during a C-SPAN appearance, saying Pape found it "has more to do with occupations and fighting injustice than religion. And he pointed out that most of these suicide bombings have been done at the hands of the Tamil Tiger in Sri Lanka than by Muslims. I have not fully read that book, but whatever I have read from it I found very interesting and it really responds to the myth and the known notion now that has been used by several commentators and some politicians.."
  • In May, CAIR-Michigan Executive Director Dawud Walid cited Pape's work in a Detroit Free Press column arguing terrorist attacks, including the failed Times Square bombing, were not connected to religion. "Prof. Robert Pape, who leads the Chicago Project on Security and Terrorism, states that there is little connection between terrorism and extremist interpretations of Islam or any world religion; oppression, a sense of marginalization and occupation are the primary causes for international terrorism."
  • Pape even is cited in CAIR's defense against charges it has not condemned suicide bombings, with the organization quoting his belief that "suicide terrorism is mainly a response to foreign occupation and not Islamic fundamentalism."

Though he did not plan a suicide attack, Shahzad seemed to demolish Walid's reference when he was sentenced to life in prison Tuesday. Among his comments in court was a warning to "brace yourself, the war with Muslims has just begun" and "The Quran gives us the right to defend ourselves."

The only reader review of Cutting the Fuse on Monday came from CAIR-San Diego spokesman Edgar Hopida, who calls the book's recommendations something "that all politicians and terrorist analysts should consider."...

Khaled Abu Toameh, A "Palestinian" Arab Who Tells -- Remarkably -- The Unremarkable Truth

From Hudson New York:

Why Do Radical Muslims Want to Kill Europeans?

by Khaled Abu Toameh
October 8, 2010

How true is it that Al-Qaeda's terror attacks around the world are directly linked to the Israeli-Arab conflict?

Some Middle East and terror "experts" have long maintained that the West's support for Israel was one of the main motivations behind the attacks of Al-Qaeda and other Islamic fundamentalist groups.

These "experts" have naively and foolishly endorsed Al-Qaeda Chief Osama bin Laden's argument that the terror attacks against the US and Western targets are the result of the Israeli-Arab conflict.

In the past, bin Laden justified his organization's attacks on Americans by citing continued US support for Israel as the main reason.

But now that it has been revealed that Al-Qaeda is also planning a new wave of terror attacks in Europe, it would be interesting to hear what excuse bin Laden would have this time.

If the Americans deserve to be murdered because of Washington's "bias" in favor of Israel, why are countries such as France, Britain and Germany -- which have, generally speaking, been very supportive of the Palestinians -- now on the black list of radical Islamic groups?

The Europeans are being targeted for the same reason the Americans are: for being "infidels" and enemies of Islam and for the Western values they represent. They are being targeted because of their failure to transform into Islamic countries. Those who think that solving the Israeli-Arab conflict will undermine Al-Qaeda and its allies do not know what they are talking about.

Bin Laden, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Hizbullah Secretary-General Hasan Nasrallah are actually waging a war against Arabs and Muslims who are involved, directly and indirectly, in the Middle East peace process.

Al-Qaeda was established in 1989 in Afghanistan, and not in the West Bank and Gaza Strip or any Arab country.

Al-Qaeda was one of the by-products of the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan, and not the creation of the Jewish state in mandatory Palestine in 1948.

Al-Qaeda was established with one goal in mind: to defeat the all the non-believers, including the US and its Arab, Muslim and Western allies.

Bin Laden and his friends want to kill Europeans not because of settlement construction in the West Bank ,or the blockade on the Gaza Strip; they want to kill Europeans because Europeans are not Muslims and have different values.

The Europeans need to understand that their support for Arabs in general and the Palestinians in particular will not help them avoid "punishment" by radical Muslims.

The policy of appeasing Muslim terror groups also will not help. On the contrary, each concession by the US and its allies to Al-Qaeda, Muslim Brotherhood, Hamas and Hizbullah will be interpreted as a sign of weakness that will subsequently lead to more violence.

The only connection between the Muslim terrorists and the Middle East conflict is their dream of destroying Israel.

They want to destroy Israel not because they love the Palestinians, but because they regard Jews as "infidels."

They want to destroy Israel because they believe that all of Palestine is Muslim-owned land that belongs only to Muslims.

[but the "Peace Process" can only weaken Israel, and the Slow Jihadists differ from the Fast Jihadists of Hezbollah, the Islamic Republic of Iran, and Al Qaeda, only in matters of tactics and timing, and this Khaled Abu Toameh is not yet prepared to recognize, much less publicly express].

Renewed peace talks between Israel and the Palestinian Authority have only increased the terror groups' appetite to carry out their schemes.

The only way to deal with the terror threat is by stepping up the war against Al-Qaeda, Taliban and other radical Islamic groups.[and in weakening -- dividing, demoralizing -- the Camp of Islam]

Pregnant Muslim ordered to remove her veil in court because magistrates can't see her face

From The Daily Mail

A pregnant Muslim woman was ordered by magistrates to remove her veil while she gave evidence against her violent ex-partner yesterday. Georgina Richards, 36, initially refused for religious reasons but reluctantly agreed when magistrates said they might not accept her evidence if they could not see her 'facial expressions'.

The case at Leicester Magistrates Court was held up for over an hour while magistrates agreed to hear her evidence from behind a screen. Chairman of the bench Lawrence Faulkner told her: 'We need to see a person's facial expressions to assess the evidence they are giving.'If you refuse to remove your veil, we may not be able to accept your evidence.'

Miss Richards, who is heavily pregnant, (mother to three of the couple's children and eight months pregnant with their fourth),gave evidence against her ex-partner Ismail Mangera, 30, from behind a screen in the courtroom. Mr Mangera was found guilty of punching Miss Richards in the face and scrawling abuse on her front door.

But after the hearing, Miss Richards hit out at the magistrates for forcing her to remove her veil. She said: 'I was a bit unhappy that he told me to take my veil off. They put screens up next to me but I didn't really want to do it.   But I thought the case would be dropped if I didn't take it off. It just made me feel uncomfortable. They wanted to see the expression on my face but I don't think it really matters, I think I could have done it with my veil on.'

I imagine a convert from her name - but unless she has a Muslim nikah of no legal value in British law I wonder how religious she really is to have 4 children by a man she is not married to.

Honeybee Colony Collapse Syndrome Solved

DENVER - It has been one of the great murder mysteries of the garden: what is killing off the honeybees?

Since 2006, 20 to 40 percent of the bee colonies in the United States alone have suffered "colony collapse." Suspected culprits ranged from pesticides to genetically modified food.

Now, a unique partnership - of military scientists and entomologists - appears to have achieved a major breakthrough: identifying a new suspect, or two.

A fungus tag-teaming with a virus have apparently interacted to cause the problem, according to a paper by Army scientists in Maryland and bee experts in Montana in the online science journal PLoS One.

Exactly how that combination kills bees remains uncertain, the scientists said - a subject for the next round of research. But there are solid clues: both the virus and the fungus proliferate in cool, damp weather, and both do their dirty work in the bee gut, suggesting that insect nutrition is somehow compromised.

This is just the first step to reviving the honeybee, but now, hopefully, a cure wil be found.

Daniel Greenfield: On Europe's Failure To Sufficiently Grasp The Islamic Threat

From Eurasia News:

Europe Doesn't Get Islam

The Islamic problem is not merely a clash of cultures, but also a clash of civilizations. Had it been merely a clash of cultures, Europe would only be in the same boat as America. Troubled, but not immediately fatal. Instead Europe is facing a clash of civilizations. The cultural and religious dimensions of the conflict underlie a larger perception on the Muslim side, that they are fighting to expand the borders of the Muslim East, rather than trying to be accepted in the Christian West.

As Americans are blinded to the dangers of Islam by their experience with multiculturalism, Europeans are blinded to the dangers of Islam by their inexperience with multiculturalism. Both make the mistake of assuming that Islamic violence is part of the multicultural norm, rather than the resumption of an old invasion of Europe. The chaos and confusion in a multicultural society can make it hard to spot real threats against the background noise, frustrations and raw nerves of cultural friction. It becomes easy to lump in complaints about too many Indian restaurants, with complaints about angry mosque worshipers. And it becomes all too easy for authorities to tell people to just make the best of it, while ignoring the situation. The authorities are certain that eventually a natural balance will arise a generation or two down the road. The slow realization that the native born Muslims are actually more radicalized than their fathers and grandfathers is worrying them, but not in a particularly constructive way. Instead they are torn between England's accommodation policies and France's integration policies, neither of which get at the heart of the problem.

Debates over swimming classes or a radical mosque here and there are only the smaller branches of a fast growing tree. Because the problem is not merely cultural differences, those can be and have been accommodated. The problem is that Muslims believe that their way of life is morally superior, and that any system or institution that does not follow those laws, is invalid. Furthermore they believe that they have a duty to impose their laws on others in the name of their religion or honor. Attempting to accommodate people who believe this, by accepting their laws in whole or in part, leads to an avalanche effect, with each concession generating demands for new concessions. There is no final point of accommodation to be had, except complete submission to Islam, because those being accommodated never recognize the inherent validity of the system that is accommodating them. Not until it becomes their system.

The clashes over food on Ramadan or pork in restaurants or seeing eye dogs in taxicabs are reflections of that attitude. And they are not the worst of those reflections by far. That honor might be reserved for the rapes and murders committed by Muslims who believe that rape is a sin for a woman, not a man, and that murdering infidels is the way to paradise. And while European governments still insist that there is a tremendous gap between a Muslim cab driver refusing a blind passenger or the Muslim rape gangs of Oslo or Sydney-- but they both stem from a common attitude. From the Muslim insistence that their values are so superior and universal that they have a right to enforce them on others. And so a Swedish girl who is dressed normally by her country's standards, is treated by Muslims according to the laws and standards of the Muslim world. Similarly the Muslim cab driver treats blind passengers or customers buying whiskey by the laws and standards of Islam.

One country cannot have two legal systems. On that both Muslims and Europeans generally agree, not counting those like the Archbishop of Canterbury, who are already ready to accept some doses of Sharia law, in exchange for the promise of peace and stability. The question is whose system will prevail? Demographics will eventually answer that question, and between aggressive immigration, high birth rates and the prospect of Turkey in the EU-- the answer does not appear to be favorable to the future of Europe. But before that happens, Islamic Supremacism is already dictating the answer through sheer force and intimidation.

Most minorities will adapt to a host country, one way or another. However a minority that expects to be a majority, that sees itself as the vanguard of a moral, religious and national force reclaiming territory in the hands of immoral infidels for Allah-- is not going to adapt. Instead it will expect the natives to adapt to it. And the willingness of European governments to adapt to them, has only fed that sense of Islamic triumphalism and burnished their expectations for a Caliphate. Tolerance has only fed the Clash of Civilizations. Every finger given, has led to a torn off hand. Negotiations has fed European governments into the same deceptive two track system, in which the first track is manned by false moderates who are all smiles and empty promises, and the second track is manned by open terrorists who want to seize power without compromise. Ironically, the same system, European governments have insisted on feeding Israel into.

A clash of cultures can be resolved peacefully. A clash of civilizations in which both sides are competing for the same physical and political territory will spill over into violence, unless one side checkmates the other. Right now Muslims have become quite good at checkmating Europeans, using oil and the threat of violence as leverage. Which is why Europe finds it easier to reduce the whole thing to a cultural problem that can be worked out, with enough available Hallal meals and tolerance seminars, rather than a war set to pour out rivers of blood on the streets of London, Paris and Oslo.

While Muslim Gulf states help feed the Islamization of Europe, they continue to rely on money, protection and tourism from the West. Islamization is one form of leverage for them, giving them a choke hold on their best customers. And neither America nor Europe have dared to significantly defy them in quite a while. And when Europe crumbles, and Israel is destroyed, America will stand alone. Culturally and politically isolated among an increasingly Muslim and Marxist Third World, and resentful rival superpowers, Russia and China. And then it will have a desperate choice between fighting for itself, or surrendering to the cultural oblivion tugging at it right now.

European countries have a limited time frame in which to act, and a wolf howling at their backs. The longer a problem goes on, the more people acclimate themselves to it. And the less capable they are of taking action to avert it. Demographics is not in Europe's favor. The continued flow of migration from the Muslim world into Europe, will complete the process of irrevocably transforming it, as much as Turkey or Palestine was, by Muslim invaders. Dismissing the birth pangs of Eurabia as merely cultural friction is equivalent to pretending that gangrene is only a sore. This is not merely a cultural problem, it is a civilizational one. Flattering, pandering and tolerance lessons will not make it go away, only feed it till it explodes across all of Europe.

One cannot ignore the inevitable for long, only become numbed to it. That is the cooked lobster effect. Some European countries have developed a little sensitivity to a grave problem, but that is not nearly enough. Respecting Ramadan and dispensing Halal will not resolve it. They only define the latest parameters of European submission to an invading civilization. This is not a war of practices, so much as of assumptions. Europe's Muslims have come to assume that the future belongs to them. Europe's governments assume that everything will work out with a little pandering. Both groups need to be forced to change their assumptions, before it's too late.

Muslims In China Riot

From The times Of India

China: Prostitution fears spark riot in Muslim area

BEIJING: Thousands of Muslims of Hui ethnic minority in China's Gansu province raided and ransacked a newly-opened clubhouse near a mosque following rumours that it has become a prostitution den, according to a media report.

The residents stormed into the Linxia clubhouse, which also houses a karaoke lounge, bathhouse and nightclub after 10 pm on September 21, just a few hours after it was opened, and ransacked it, Hong Kong-based South China Morning Post quoted the Information Centre for Human Rights and Democracy as saying.

The rioters smashed just about everything they could reach. About 10 people were injured in the clashes between the rioters and security guards of the clubhouse.

Up to 30 local Islamic leaders, some of them in their 70s were arrested more than a week after the clash for allegedly instigating the riots, the newspaper report said.

The clubhouse was large enough to accommodate up to 1,000 customers and was run by relatives of a leading figure in the Linxia prefectural administration who was believed to be from Hui community.

The club was ransacked by the crowd following complaints from residents that services provided by it violated Muslim social values, the paper reported.

The people were also upset by the loud music from the club.

Bai Zhiliang, a Hui staff member said one reason for the residents' anger could have been that the clubhouse was only about 500 metres from a mosque.

More than 100 households living in the same building, above the nightclub, had also been concerned about the likelihood of loud music being played well past midnight. The boss of the nightclub was well known to every resident.

"They dare do every dirty thing inside," he said. This club unlike the other two other karaoke venues on the same street was believed to have provided special service - a euphemism for prostitution on the mainland China, he said.

The two clubs confined to music and dance, the newspaper report said.

A woman working in a nearby pharmacy said Islamic leaders had approached and tried to talk to the owner of the business, also an ethnic Hui, to give it up but their efforts had ended in failure.

Dubbed the "Chinese Mecca" since the middle of the Ming dynasty, Linxia is an autonomous prefecture housing about 10 million strong Muslim Hui ethnic minority and boasts a long history of Islamic culture.

Located on the upper reaches of the Yellow River, the region's Muslims regard themselves as the descendants of Arabs who traversed through the Silk Road centuries ago. [just like all the Pakistanis who are called "Sayyids" and consider themselves descendants of the family of Muhammad]

Over the time Hui Muslims mixed well with the growing numbers of Chinese Han population in the region.

A Musical Interlude: I've Got A Feeling I'm Falling (Ben Bernie Orch., voc. Scrappy Lambert)

Listen here.

From a previous posting of this song on September 30, 2009:

Note that both "g"'s are clearly pronounced by the singer; others may think that one, or both, depending on the circumstances, should be facultative, as when you choose to sing  the song  "I've Got A Feelin' You're Foolin'" as "I've Got A Feeling You're Foolin'" or as "I've Got A Feelin' You're Foolin'" or even as "I've Got A Feeling You're Fooling" - that is, I've got a feelin' you're foolin, I've got a notion it's make-believe, I think you're laughin' right up your sleeve, foolin' with me
