Jihad Jane Explains Why She Converted To Islam

She certainly fits the Hugh's unofficial profile of Muslim converts as the "socially and psychically marginal." The Daily Mail:

The white Islamic militant who christened herself as 'Jihad Jane' has explained the some of the reasons for her conversion to violent radicalism.

Colleen LaRose, 49, of Pennsberg, Pennsylvania, pleaded guilty to several charges, including planning a jihad and conspiring to kill Swedish cartoonist Lars Vilks, in February 2011.

But in her media first interview since being arrested and charged with a series of terrorism-related crimes, LaRose explained her journey to jihad. She was raped as a child, ran away from home to become a prostitute at 13 and fell into militant Islam for a 'sense of belonging.'

In an extended report by Reuters, when asked why militant Islam was so attractive to her, LaRose replied:

'That I was finally going to be some place where I belonged. I've survived through a lot of things that rightfully should have killed me.

'I always thought there was a purpose for me to be alive.

'And when I found out about Islam I thought this is what I have to do, this is why I've lived so long.'

LaRose explained the difficulties of her early life in Detroit, Michigan, leaving her as emotionally vulnerable adult.

At around eight years old LaRose, and her older sister Pat, was raped by her father Richard LaRose.

The sexual abuse continued until LaRose ran away from at 13. The girl then worked in prostitution and developed heroin and cocaine addictions.

At 16, LaRose married a man twice her age, but just a year later she turned up at a shelter for teens in Memphis and was committed to a psychiatric facility for several months.

While at this shelter she worked with counselor Ollie Avery Mannino. When Mannino rang Richard LaRose to check Colleen's story, her father answered with hesitation: 'Yeah. I raped her.'

As Reuters journalist John Shiffman, who spent six months investigating the case, wrote: 'He said it sharply, without remorse, and in such a prideful, guttural tone that Mannino snapped her head, stunned.'

Richard LaRose died in 2010, having never been prosecuted for his crimes.

Collen LaRose continued to drift, split from her first husband, and married again at 23. This relationship ended in divorce 11 years later.

LaRose claims that her father's abuse ruined her life: 'I have done all kinds of bad things. I was rebelling because of what he did and because my mother did nothing to help us.'

Labour Mosque Snub Threat

This isn't a threat of a 'snub' these are deeper threats and another good reason why this Mosque is undesireable. From the Sunday Star

MUSLIM leaders last night warned the Labour Party could face a backlash after planning permission for a controversial 9,000-seater mega-mosque was refused. Planners from Labour-led Newham Council in east London last week rejected the application from Islamist group Tablighi Jamaat, on the basis it was “too large”.

That leaves Ed Miliband’s party potentially out of favour with more than a million UK-based followers of the movement, which runs its European headquarters from Dewsbury, West Yorkshire. Last night supporters of the Islamic sect vowed to punish the council in future elections for failing to listen to the estimated 90,000 Muslim residents in the borough.

Meanwhile, things could get worse for Labour across the country if Muslims decide to defect to protest groups such as George Galloway’s Respect Party, as has happened in Bradford and Tower Hamlets. Currently, Britain’s Muslim population stands at 2.8million, with more than 600 out of 1,350 mosques affiliated to Tablighi Jamaat.

Speaking after the controversial mega-mosque decision last Wednesday, Abjol Miah (a former member of Tower Hamlets labour party), a leading activist for both the Respect Party  and the extremist Islamic Forum of Europe told us: “I think a lot of people tonight that weren’t political have become political. It is a shame we have Labour councillors and committee members here. You know we have the London council elections in 2014 and I think the residents are going to be thinking differently. They are going to get more active. It is a time for change for Labour. You watch how we get angry.”

Meanwhile, Tablighi Jamaat has vowed to seek a judicial review to challenge the council’s decision to prevent the building of the mosque.

Guilty, your Honour

There is no finer free entertainment than that provided by our courts and I am surprised that so few people take advantage of their right to attend. The fun begins even in the waiting area where the accused on bail foregather. You can usually tell them by the fact that their girlfriends’ names are tattooed in copper-plate on their necks: Greater love hath no man etc., etc.

The other day I went to give evidence in a murder trial. As I waited to get on, as we in the expert-witness trade call being ushered into the witness box, I overheard an enormous tattooed Indian with three gold rings like knuckledusters on both hands shouting down his telephone ‘The other charges ain’t got dropped.’ Now that’s what I call assimilation. Mind you, it will probably turn out in the near future that his gold knuckledusters have been the best investment of his or anyone else’s life.

Then there was a well-spoken black man with diamond studs in each of his ears saying to his solicitor ‘I know I can’t see her, but why can’t I send her a present?’ He continued: ‘She’s a beautiful girl, don’t get me wrong, but she’ll take you in as soon as you look at her.’

I went up to the notice board. There was a notice that asked whether you ‘Need help with your problems?’ It went on to ask ‘Are you having any problems with your landlord?’ Needless to say there was no equivalent question, ‘Are you having problems with your tenant?’

As it happens my next door neighbour is a landlord. He has just won a herculean legal battle, costing several thousands, to evict the tenants of one of his flats who have been in receipt of housing benefit and have paid him no rent for a year. When finally he managed to evict them, he found that all their bills were unpaid: gas, electricity, telephone. The only bill they paid punctually was for Sky television. Their son, living with them, was on a salary of £70,000 a year.

Another of the questions asked by the notice was the following: ‘Are your debts out of control?’ In other words, debts contract people, not the other way round. Could this way of looking at the matter be the key to our current situation, which is a pas de deux between an infantilised population and a dishonest government?
