You need to do a better job of explaining your statements.  Islam and Muslims are not your enemy and I like to invite to any of our Islamic centers in Nashville and you'll discover that most of us are not even committed Muslims-most of our centers have no activities except for the Friday prayer.  If you want to modernize "civilize" us, you are doing it wrong.  Study our history from our sources, open a dialogue with us, and visit our centers.

Asalaamu alaykum to everyone who will come across this. i was shocked to see such words about  Kasar Abdullah. thos of you who don't know this Beautiful and wonderful muslim sister are missing alot, and may will believe that she is radical and whatever was said about her... if anyone out there knows Kasar Abdullah well enough that person is got to be me..  Kasar is the only muslim sister who has dedicated most of her time on helping muslim children. Kasar is not  radical or a hater of other religions, Kasar doesn't breach bad or ugly against anyone out there, All what Kasar is doing is helping the muslim community around her to be better muslims, stronger muslims, muslim are not just muslims by the word and the looks, but muslims who know what Islam is and what it is all about.  she helps thos little muslim girls to understand and love themselves as muslim, and she does teach and explain the beauty of Islam and Islamic way of living in the most beautiful and peaceful ways there can ever be................... We as muslim should support this sister, we should love her and let her know that she is not alone out there and we all are looking up to her and wish for our kids to be just like her....... i believe the Islamic school of nashville should change its name to Kasar Islamic School.  Kasar is worthy of everthing she is. she is actually more and better then what she or you guys out there think or believe she is...  lets get to know her better and support her.   she is the best we have in the Nashville Area............ with respect to everyone who gets to read this.

Salam Alaikum Everyone. I happen to know many of the people this author "tried" to write about in this article. I am a convert to Islam, and very proud to be a part of the Muslim Community in Nashville, Tennessee. The Imam you speak of AbdulHakim was very nice to me when I went searching for answers after 9-11. He was kind and so were all the sisters that I met at the Islamic Center on 12th ave. As well as Dr. BinHazin. I was not FORCED to do anything nor was I treated in a bad way by an Muslim. I think this author should have done more research, talked to more people, and opened her mind and maybe her heart a little before writing this article. And I invite anyone to visit any of the Mosques in Nashville, you will be greeted warmly and welcomed. I have met many of the Somali and Kurdish in the area and they are all very nice people. You have to open your mind to the possibility that even though we are from different places, speak different languages, cook different food, have a different religion that really all people are the same in reality. We all need food, water, shelter,and education, we love our children and our elders, and we want the next generation to have better and be better than the one that we were born into. And another thing, we are all from immigrants in this country unless you are 100% Native American. That is what made this country strong, and will continue to keep this country strong with all the diversity. My words may not be the most eloquent, but I hope that my point was made and that you recieve it nicely as I wrote this with love in my heart for all people Christian, Jew, And Muslim in Nashville.
