Who could imagine that feminist "equity activist" Nancy Hopkins, and distinctly unfeminist, Stepford-wifey journalist Charlotte "I can't add 2 and 2" Allen would think alike on the subject of women? But they do: they both think women are fluffy little creatures who shouldn't have to tax their brains with hard things like science. Hopkins goes even further - she thinks science should be fluffy to match. Christina Hoff Summers disagrees. David Thompson reports:
David Thompson's comment says all that needs to be said on the subject of "gender parity", "affirmative action" and other such nonsense:
And very insulting to women, just as "affirmative action" is insulting to blacks. In the bad old days, it was often assumed that a successful woman must have slept her way to the top - she was only there because of a leg-over. Is it any better if people think she's only there because of a leg-up?
