Eric Holder on Obama's Veep Search Committee

So Sen. Obama, who is trying to distance himself from the Weather Underground terrorists Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn, has named to his Vice Presidential Search Committee Eric Holder ... the top Clinton Justice Department official who was deeply enmeshed in the disgraceful pardons granted by President Clinton on his way out the door — pardons which included two Weather Underground terrorists, whose lengthy terrorism sentences were commuted. (And that is to say nothing of Holder's involvement in the infamous pardon of the international fraudster, Marc Rich.)

And Bob Johnson was head of Fannie Mae, and instituted all kinds of new policies that made that institution ripe for misuse. And misused it was, by Franklin Raines, who managed to take the short-term profits-view, and with Johson's "aggressive" strategy in place, managed during his tenure as Johnson's vetted replacement to cook the books and thereby grab for himself nearly $90 million. In a plea-bargain a few months ago, in which the government went very very lightly on him, he agreed to pay back....oh, about $20 million. So he's kept most of the loot.

You can and should find out a lot more about Franklin Raines, and about the changes that Bob Johnson made at Fannie Mae, and the new policies that help explain how  the phenomenon of Raines was made possible.

Eric Holder's central role in crafting the intentionally and fundamentally inequitable guidelines for administration of so-called "hate crime" laws deserves attention. He is among a small group responsible for unleashing a tidal wave of politically correct subjectivity upon our justice system. And the degree to which this was a top-down policy and hands-off ideology has resulted in unprecedented federal influence on the policies and protocols that determine "hate crime" prosecution in the states. This is his legal legacy, and it is a troubling one.
