What is the “real” Islam? Is it the Islam of the nice Muslim at work? Or is it the Islam of Osama bin Laden?
To get a logical answer, we must have a logical basis for analysis. What sources are available to answer the question? We can toss out the media and all of its answers since they generally quote apologist “experts.” But is there an expert we can trust? Yes, there is--Mohammed.  more>>>

This was a very eye-opening and informative article. It raises some questions about the origin and purpose of Islam.
I feel that Islam is a plaigarism of Judaism and Christianity and little if anything to do with religion or spirituality...more with politics and spite.
I would like to see more statistical findings on this subject.

"The foundational texts of Islam -- the Trilogy -- suffer from being deliberately difficult."

Someone posted here, earlier, verses to support the thesis that the Koran is quite straightforward and easily understood.

I've also read that in the Koran, whenever two verses disagree or contradict, the one written later takes precedence.  Can we be sure that we can come up with "a Koran that is in the proper order"?

A good exapmle is the one on the 'politicalislam' website (in the "5 Principles" section) -- 109:2 [to you your religion, to me, mine]; then 9:5 [kill the kaffirs wherever you find them].  The site tells us that the last came later.  That tells me that it takes precedence over the first.

The context around 9:5 tells the people to dissolve the treaties they made with the Pagans (Yusufali's word), except for "the ones who supported you".

9:29 is also instructive: "fight those who don't believe in Allah ... nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, until they pay the 'dhimmi tax', and feel subdued".

As they say, "It's in the Book".
