Of course Nick Griffin and the BNP aren't doing what Hitler or Mussolini did - they're not in power. If they got power, make no mistake about it, they would.
The BNP are fascists without power. To oppose them is to be anti-fascist.
Yes, the term is over-used. Despicably it is used against Geert Wilders or the English Defence League. (Incidentally, the BNP have repudiated the EDL on the grounds that it is "run by Jews".) But used against the BNP, it is appropriate.
The Socialist aspect of National Socialism is often forgotten. The BNP are all for state control of industries, planned economy and all the horrors that socialism can inflict.
The BNP are not, however, an immediate threat - that comes from Islam, which is fascist to the core.
