The September 11 2001 jihad raid on the United States was not simply an attack on the United States, but on the entire civilised - and indeed, the entire non-Muslim - world.
To recognize that, all one needs to do is go to some of the relevant websites and read, slowly and attentively, through the names of the victims. They did not call the Twin Towers 'the World Trade Centre' for nothing.
The United States, since this attack took place in their biggest city, and was aimed at them as the quintessential Infidel country, the perceived Ultra-Infidel, the 'Great Satan', of course accounts for the vast majority of the casualties - but many of those casualties bear names indicating that the person or his or her parents had come to America from far away, pursuing the American Dream...and, whether as janitor or restaurant hand or brilliant young executive, they had 'made it', they were proudly working in the Tallest Building In the World, in New York City, USA. I read of one carpenter guy, employed in the WTC, who would ride the lift to the roof and then stand there and cry out, "I'm the king of the world!' Their names bespeak the great American Melting Pot. One is struck by the abundance of recognisably Irish and Italian surnames...and the Jewish names, of course, since this was New York City; and then by the Hispanic names, and the names from East Asia - Korean and Filipino.
Then there are the foreign nationals, from many countries. One can trace America's relationships - historic and regional and economic - by simply looking down the list of those countries who lost the most citizens. The United Kingdom accounts for the largest single group of foreign victims - 67. Then, in descending order of magnitude, India (41 nationals), South Korea (28), Japan (24), Canada (24), Colombia (17), Philippines (16), Mexico (16), Jamaica (16), Germany (11; I have been able to discover the names and potted biographies of six of these, and they were outstanding people, as I suspect most of the victims were, one way or another), Australia (10 - I know all their names), Italy (10), Republic of Ireland (6) and Israel (5). Portugal, like Israel, lost 5 people on September 11.
Every non-Muslim country that had even one citizen murdered in those three airborne assaults, should be rejoicing that a measure of justice has, finally, been done.
If I were living in the UK, then the moment I knew for sure that Bin Laden was dead I would have been at the memorial in Grosvenor Square, that remembers the British dead of September 11, and I would have been laying a wreath and saying aloud, "They got him. You are avenged. Justice has been done". And something like that should be happening in every country that has erected a memorial to those of their own who were murdered by the jihad gangsters on September 11.
So: here are the names of my dead, my fellow Australians who perished, murdered by Jihad, as human sacrifices to the infernal 'allah', on September 11. In 2002 88 more Australians would be murdered, in the Jihad bombing raid at Bali.
1/ Alberto Dominguez, 66, from Lidcombe, Sydney: on board American Airlines Flight 11.
2/ Yvonne Kennedy, 62, retired nurse, from Sydney, on American Airlines Flight 77.
3/ Craig Neil Gibson, 37, from Randwick, Sydney: in the North Tower, 94th floor.
4/ Steven K Tompsett, 39, from Merrylands, Sydney; in the North Tower.
5/ Giselle Ferraina, 27, from Sydney. 106th floor, WTC North Tower. Also a UK citizen.
6/ Leanne Whiteside, 31, hotshot young lawyer from Melbourne, in the WTC South Tower, working for Canadian company 'Aon'.
7/ Lesley Anne Thomas/ Thomas-O'Keefe, 41, from NSW, in the WTC North Tower.
8/ Peter Gyulavary, 44, architect and environmental planner, born in Geelong, Victoria; resident in the USA for 20 years but had kept his Australian citizenship.
9/ Andrew Knox, 29, from Adelaide, South Australia - workign with a building construction company on floor 103, North Tower.
10/ Kevin Dennis, 43, from the Gold Coast, Queensland; had come to the USA via London, and become a US-based stock broker with Cantor Fitzgerald, on the 101st floor, North Tower.
Yvonne, Andrew, Leanne, Alberto, Leslie, Kevin, Elisa, Craig, Peter and Steve: your deaths are avenged. Justice has been done. One evil jihad gang boss has been eliminated from the earth.
In the Kings Domain parklands in Melbourne in the State of Victoria, Australia, near the Shrine of Remembrance (war memorial), there are memorial plaques and two summer-flowering trees (a river red gum, and a smooth-barked apple [angophora sp.]) in honor of the two Victorian victims, Peter Gyulavary and Leanne Whiteside.
I hope their families go and stand by the trees this weekend and say: The Americans got him. They got that rat-b*st*rd who sent the assassins who murdered you and all those thousands of other innocent people. They got him!
And then it's time to get out the beer, or a nice bottle of Australian wine, and drink a toast to the Navy SEALs.
