Diversity officer Bookmark and Share

As well as "no discernible mission statement" - something we need to re-visit going forward - New English Review doesn't employ a Diversity Officer. How we have kept going forward for nearly six years without one I can't imagine.

Applications are therefore sought for a Diversity Officer. The successful applicant will be a self-starter, a team player, willing to go the extra mile in another man's shoes. Or woman's. NER's Diversity Officer must be special (while recognising, naturally, that we are all special). She or he must be a cut above the other Diversity Officers, all of whom are a cut above each other.

Diversity within groups is easy. NER's Diversity Officer must be diverse within him or herself - Best Self, that is. The successful applicant must therefore have have the body but of a weak and feeble woman (and know it); but also the heart and stomach of a king, and of a king of England too, and think foul scorn that Parma or Spain, or any prince of Europe, should dare to invade the borders of his/her realm; to which rather than any dishonour shall grow by her/him, s/he him/herself will take up arms, s/he him/herself will be your general, judge, and rewarder of every one of your virtues in the field.

Salary negotiable.

  Other job openings at NER:

1) Office Shmo: Nondescript nebbish needed who likes to write redundant reports and go home early.

 2) Corporate Shnorrer: Responsible for mooching off coworkers, begging for raises, taking power naps.

 3) Senior Schmuck: Gets things done effectively, but is not afraid of degrading and abusing coworkers.

 All salaries negotiable.
