My personal epiphany or revelation with civilizations dichotomy of liberal versus conservative mindsets is simplistic, but I believe highly acurate.
There is a line in the maturation process that demarks the matured from the immatured. If one is more on the matured side, then that one becomes a conservative. If one is more on the immatured side, then that one becomes a liberal.
Further, the measure of an individuals maturity can be deduced by ones capacity to correctly indentify the truth of objective reality, and conversly, the measure of ones immaturity can be deduced by ones inability to correctly indentiy the truth of objective reality.
This is necessarily so because the maturation process is about starting off helpless and in need of everything, and then proceeding toward being capable of doing everthing for oneself and others.
Those who fail in this mission must, in order to deal with reality, create an illusion they pretend they believe is the truth of objective reality. While those who are successful in this mission must necessarily see the genuine truth of objective reality. Here is where the two sides argue. One argues about the truth of objective reality. The other argues to force said illusion upon reality.
One might look at a piece of history. Chamberlain and Churchill each looked at the same phenomenon, Hitler and Nazi Germany. However each saw something different, this itself implys a parralax view, one saw "peace in our time", the other saw reality, a war machine about to ignite.
The problems of the West, socialism and Islam, reflect this parralax view of the matured versus the immatured, of the conservative versus the liberal.
Need I spell the rest out for you.
One side embraces socialism, the disire to remain in the garden of Eden in purpetude, to have the parents take care of them forever. This same side prefers to embrace Islam in the name of toleration, believing Islam to be worthy of the toleration of others. The other side sees the reality of this two headed monster.
Our cultures and civilizations hang in the balance. Thank you.
