"A Shining Career" Or, When Wikipedia Stops Me Dead Bookmark and Share

From a short Wikipedia entry on Arnold Gehlen (whom I looked up only because he is listed as one of those interested in the Colombian aphorist Gomez Davila):

"He joined the Nazi Party in 1933 and had a shining career as a member of the 'Leipzig School' under Hans Freyer. He replaced Paul Tillich, who emigrated to the U.S., at the University of Frankfurt."

Babarossa At The Gates*
Or: A Shining Citadel* On The Hill

A glaring omission in the English language Wikipedia entries of Arnold Gehlen and one of his relatives suggests that the authors did not know shining from Shinola or Scheiße from Sosiologen or Service.

[An insultingly small contribution to NER will be given for the names of the two above, who, though not related nor what one would call "sons of guns," give the appearance of being separated at Big Bertha.]

* Sniping critics might note that about the only thing I recall from the book referenced above is that Hitler may have dithered too long before launching Operation Citadel
