“The Ties that Bind”: New Center for Security Policy Report on the Abedin Family Islamist Connections
clear

This past week saw a firestorm of adverse criticism directed at five US House members for letters sent to several Inspector Generals in the Obama Administration for investigation of Muslim Brotherhood influence in our government.   The five Republican House members included Reps. Michelle Bachmann (R-MN), Trent Franks (R-AZ), Louie Gohmert (R-TX), Thomas Rooney (R-Fla.) and Lynn Westmoreland (R-Ga.).  The agencies to which the requests were made included the Departments of Defense, Homeland Security, Justice, State, Director of National Intelligence and President Obama’s Assistant for Homeland Security and Counter-Terrorism.  The target of the firestorm was the deputy Chief of Staff to Secretary of State, Huma Abedin, whose family had close ties to fundamentalist Islamist groups, and whose mother  Dr. Salehi is head of a woman’s college in Saudi Arabia and alleged member of the Muslim Brotherhood “sisterhood”.   The letter sent by Bachmann stated:

The Department's Deputy Chief of Staff, Huma Abedin, has three family members - her late father, her mother and her brother - connected to Muslim Brotherhood operatives and /or organizations. Her position affords her routine access to the Secretary and to policy making.

Bachmann became the instant target of accusations from fellow GOP members of Congress.  Sen. John McCain and House Speaker John Boehner, Florida Sen. Marco Rubio and former Bachmann campaign manager Ed Rollins have all condemned the Minnesota congresswoman.  She was the subject of a maelstrom of “Muslim witch hunt” portrayals on media programs like AC360 and the liberal media in the blogosphere.  There were allegations that the requests of the House Republican Study Group led by Bachmann smacked of McCarthyism tactics against American Muslims in our Federal government. Prominent among Muslim attackers were fellow Minnesota Congressman Keith Ellison, one of two serving Muslims in Congress, the other being Andre Carson (D-IN).  Both Ellison and Carson have been involved in controversies  “equating former President Bush to Hitler and 9/11 to the Reichstag Fire “and expenses for his pilgrimage to Mecca ( Ellison) paid by Muslim Brotherhood front Muslim American Society and the value of Madrassas  as models for public Education in America (Carson) –see this video, here.

Last Thursday there was a heated exchange between Secretary of Homeland Security, Janet Napolitano and Texas Rep. Louie Gohmert over the latter prosecutorial pursuit of answers about another controversial Muslim appointee to the DHS Advisory Committee, Mohammed Elibiary during a House Judiciary Committee hearing.  Elibiary had been accused of leaking confidential intelligence from the Texas Department of Public Safety database.  Napolitano at one point accused Gohmert of being an Islamophobe. Napolitano admitted that Elibiary had not been dismissed as a result of his alleged “leaking”.

Sen. McCain was especially outraged by the accusations against Huma Abedin. He took to the Senate floor and said:

These sinister accusations rest solely on a few unspecified and unsubstantiated associations of members of Huma's family, none of which have been shown to harm or threaten the United States in any way. These attacks have no logic, no basis, and no merit and they need to stop. They need to stop now.

To say that the accusations made in both documents are not substantiated by the evidence they offer is to be overly polite and diplomatic about it. The letter in the report offer not one instance of an action, a decision or a public position that Huma has taken while at the State Department or as a member of then-Senator Clinton's staff that would lend credence to the charge that she is promoting anti-American activities within our government.
[. . . ]
. . . not least a member of Congress," should launch such a "degrading attack against fellow Americans on the basis of nothing more than fear of who they are and ignorance of that hey stand for."

Speaker Boehner weighed in with  similar ire:

Boehner said he did not know Abedin well, but that “from everything that I know of her she has a sterling character.”
“I think accusations like this being thrown around are pretty dangerous,” he said.

Lying behind this spate of outrage and criticism lay the research of the Center for Security Policy that had produced a dossier on the Muslim Brotherhood influence campaign in a ten part on-line educational program:  The Muslim Brotherhood in America.  Frank Gaffney, Jr., President of the Washington, DC-based Center for Security Policy has been attacked personally for producing the dossier.

As this torrent of criticism engulfed the media, there was pushback with evidence of the Abedin family Islamist connections.

Nonie Darwish in a Front Page Magazine article, “Huma Abedin’s Mother and an Islamist Agenda” revealed the dimensions of the Muslim Brotherhood ‘sisterhood’ in her native Egypt.  She noted:

Dr. Saleha Mahmood Abedin has been identified in Saudi Arabia as one of the founding members of the Muslim Sisterhood, a Muslim Brotherhood women’s group. This is the same group that half of Egypt was too scared to vote for and that was criminalized for many decades in Egypt for its subversiveness and terror activities.  Dr. Abedin is no ordinary Muslim woman, but an activist who supports Sharia law. She is also a long-time chairperson of the International Islamic Committee for Woman and Child Institute for (IICWC).
[. . .]
The IICW contributed greatly to fear of its agenda after a recent publication in Arabic on its website. The following topics were discussed, among others, suggesting the annulment of Egyptian moderate laws, which would be replaced by Sharia laws. Below are some of the positions that appeared in the IICWC publication:

The IICWC position that the current laws criminalizing female genital mutilation be revoked.

The IICWC’s position demanding that the laws forbidding child marriage below the age of eighteen be revoked. No new minimum marriage age was given; the group stated that the marriage standard depends on the financial and mental ability and not dependent on a specific age.

The IICWC’s positions, as reported, demanding that the laws forbidding marital rape be revoked and that polygamy is a right for men.

The IICWC’s position that a health check-up before marriage be revoked since it is against religion and should not be part of the marriage contract.

The IICWC’s position that criminal responsibility triggering at age 18 be reduced to age 15.

The IICWC’s position revokes the right of a woman to register her newborn by herself for a birth certificate because Sharia states that a child’s lineage is given strictly to the father and his paternal line. The child belongs to the father even if it was the product of adultery.

The IICWC’s position revokes the criminalization of physical and mental abuse of parents against children, so long as the punishment does not cause a permanent deformity or the beating is too extreme.

Today, the Center of Security Policy released a report, “The Ties That Bind” further evidence of Dr. Saleha Mahmood Abedin’s Islamist doctrinal espousal and alliances with supremacist groups and ironically a foreign terrorist group designated by the State Department.  Among the revelations are:

A book published and translated by the mother of Obama administration State Department Deputy Chief of Staff Huma Abedin provides fresh evidence that Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's closest aide has deeply problematic foreign associations that could, in violation of departmental guidelines, "create... a heightened risk of foreign exploitation, inducement, manipulation, pressure, or coercion."
[. . .]
The Center's report excerpts and analyzes relevant passages from a book published and translated by Saleha S. Mahmood Abedin called Women in Islam: A Discourse in Rights and Obligations by Fatima Umar Naseef. Naseef is a past head of the "women's section" and professor of shariah at King Abdulaziz University in Jeddah, where Dr. Abedin is also on the faculty. The book was published in 1999, the same year Dr. Abedin founded Dar Al Hekma, a university for women also in Jeddah that Secretary Clinton visited and spoke admiringly of with Huma Abedin in February 2010

The organization responsible for the publication of Women in Islam was the International Islamic Committee for Woman & Child (IICWC), chaired at the time by Dr. Abedin. IICWC misleadingly describes itself as "an international organization of concerned women who are committed to improving the condition of women and children around the world." In fact, like the Muslim Brotherhood, the Muslim World League (MWL) and other Islamist organizations with which it is associated, the IICWC is committed to eviscerating the rights of women and children by imposing everywhere shariah, a code that denies them fundamental - and, in the United States, constitutional - liberties.
[. . .]
Specifically, the book published by Dr. Abedin wholeheartedly affirms: limits on women's free expression; the permissibility of stoning as a punishment for adultery, killing of apostates and female genital mutilation; the contention that "man-made laws" enslave women; and more.  It also endorses women's right to fight in armed jihad.  Women in Islam is available online and sold at the Institute for Muslim Minority Affairs (IMMA), an Islamist organization co-founded by Huma Abedin's mother and her late father, Dr. Syed Zainul Abedin.

The IMMA according to its website publishes a “refereed social science journal . . . highly respected and widely acclaimed academic and scholarly publication providing accurate, reliable and objective information on Muslim minority communities worldwide.”  Among the IMMA editorial board are both Dr.  Abedin and her son, Hassan.

Below are screen shots of the IMMA website captured by Walid Shoebat and Ben Barrack in a report in late June 2012 that showed in 2008 all of the Abedin family members, the mother, Dr. Saleha Mahmood Abedin, Huma and her brother Hassan had editorial positions.  Huma’s name was dropped subsequent to her appointment as Deputy Chief of Staff to Secretary Clinton when she accepted the cabinet post of Secretary of State in the Obama Administration.

Andrew C. McCarthy in an article published Saturday at National Review Online identifying the Muslim World League as an Islamist ally of the Muslim Brotherhood:

Ms. Abedin’s father, the late Syed Z. Abedin, was an Indian-born Islamic academic who founded the Institute of Muslim Minority Affairs in Saudi Arabia. That institute was backed by the Muslim World League. As the Hudson Institute’s Zeyno Baran relates, the MWL was started by the Saudi government in 1962 “with Brotherhood members in key leadership positions.” It has served as the principal vehicle for the propagation of Islamic supremacism by the Saudis and the Brotherhood. That ideology fuels the “Islamic extremism” that, only a year ago, had McCain so worried that he thought allowing the Brotherhood into the Egyptian-government mix “would be a mistake of historic proportions."

In our NER article on how the Muslim Brotherhood infiltrated the West, we noted another prominent connection to the World Muslim League, its first director, Dr. Said Ramadan, son in law of Muslim Brotherhood founder, Hassan al Banna, and father of Swiss Islamist, Prof. Tarek Ramadan:

Ramadan, with covert CIA help, reached the pinnacle of his influence with the assumption of leadership of the World Muslim League in the 1960’s. In 1963, he gave King Saud the official proposal to found the League and was granted a diplomatic passport as Ambassador-at-large for the League. Ramadan, however, rejected Saudi funds and ended up traveling the world on a Pakistani passport.

The CSP report further notes a connection of Dr. Abedin  to a foreign terrorist group designated by the State Department, The Union of Good:

There is evidence of Dr. Saleha Abedin's personal involvement with the International Islamic Committee on Woman and Child's affiliated organization, the International Islamic Council for Da'wah and Relief (IICDR). The IICDR was banned in Israel in 2008 for its collaboration with Muslim Brotherhood cleric Yusuf al-Qaradawi's Union for Good in the funding of the Muslim Brotherhood terrorist organization, Hamas. In the United States, the Union for Good was designated a terrorist entity in late 2008 [ by our Treasury Department].

The CSP report, “The Ties That Bind” concludes:

“Ties That Bind” powerfully reinforces the Center's earlier warning that the IICWC is currently advocating for the repeal of Egypt's Mubarak-era prohibitions on female genital mutilation, child marriage, and marital rape, on the grounds that such prohibitions run counter to shariah. Americans want no part of such an agenda. They should they have no reason for concern that senior officials in their government are stealthily encouraging it.

Senator McCain,  Speaker Boehner and a host of other GOP  Congressional critics   need a copy of the CSP report and a briefing. They need  to finally understand what lies behind the Muslim Brotherhood influence campaign and infiltration of our government and the ultimare goal of the Grand Jihad in America: the supplanting our Constitution with Sharia.

I greatly respect both Michelle Backmann and John McCain. However, I side with Michelle 100% because, IMHO, she is absolutly correct. Here there is so much Islamic and MB smoke, that for an American public servant, to deny the high probability of an Islamic subversive fire, is at least dereliction of duty, and in some cases aiding and abetting the enemy.

John clearly is thinking with his heart not his brain. He has forgotten the lessen of the wolf in sheeps clothing. Only by remaining undetected can the wolf infiltrate and begin his subversive work.

Hillary Clinton is the American SofS. Huma Abedin is her right hand woman. Huma is privy to American secrets and this, while her family has known ties to the MB. This is dangerous and therefore deserving of our full attention.

Naturally the liberal blogosphere went wacko with cries of McCarthyism. But Joe McCarthy was a greatly needed voice back in the day of the red scare. Alger Hiss and Whitaker Chambers, Hollywoods secret communists, HUAC and Chicago`s haven for card carrying members of the communist party USA.

In fact, one Frank Marshall Davis was a card carrying member of the CPUSA, card number 47,544. Frank, also an anti-white racist, was BHOs mentor from 1970-1979, this being Baracs childhood-adolescent years. In fact, Axelrod, Jarret and Obama all had mentors, and even family members such as fathers and grandfathers that were card carrying members of the CPUSA. This group, BTW, swore allegience to Russia, not America.

Now we have another enemy who, like the communists, have slithered into our country with the evil intent of destroying our culture of liberty and happiness, and replacing it with their culture of tyranny and misery. This would be the Islamics, and they would be a culture of lunacy, actually born out of the moon cult part of a polytheist culture.

It is understandable that liberals would intentionally deny the reality of all this, for they deny reality in the first place. Further, it would take genuine courage to recognize this reality and liberals are real short on genuine courage.

However, for republicans, the party of conservatives, the party of non-liberals, it is duty and responsibility to our great Republic that we fully address this growing problem, and this, in spite of Islamic and liberal charges of phobia.

Liberals, the enemy from within, Islamics, the enemy from without, have applied the classic military pincer movement upon the rest of us. They each intend to destroy our Republic, nation state and wealth creating machine of capitalism, leaveing us with their tyranny, poverty and misery. We, the matured, the non-liberal, the non-Islamic, must find a means to protect and defend our beloved way of life or we will lose it to one or both of those monsters.

Woe will be humanity, when all are enslaved to Islamic insanity. Thank you.
