Wahhabi Alley Imam in Virginia Calls for Armed Jihad Bookmark and Share

Imam Sheik Shaker Elsayed Dar al-Hijrah Mosque in Falls Church

Source: Washington Post

A Washington, DC suburban Mosque, Dar al-Hijrah, infamous for fostering radicalism, is the focus of new allrgations about  Imam Sheik Shaker Elsayed,  a former leader of Muslim Brotherhood (MB) front, Muslim American Society,  extolling  armed Jihad  to an audience of Muslim Ethiopian youths at a public high school in Fairfax County, Virginia.

Dar al Hijrah Mosque in  Falls Church, Virginia is located in, what counter Jihadists leader  Jim Lafferty of the Virginia Anti-Shariah Task Force  and others have called  call Wahhabi Alley.   Northern Virginia’s Fairfax County has a high concentration of Washington metro area fundamentalist Muslims exemplified by  the location of the  MB  funded think tank, the International Institute of Islamic Thought in Herndon, Virginia .  Anwar al Awlaki, the late  American born  Yemeni  radical  Al Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula ,  killed by a US drone attack in 2011 in Yemen  had been a preacher at Dar al Hijrah and facilitated the transportation of two of the 9/11 perpetrators in the US. Abdulhakim Mujahid Muhammad, formerly Melvin Bledsoe. Bledsoe was a Muslim convert from Memphis who killed an Army recruiter in June 2009 at a Little Rock, Arkansas Mall as payback for fighting his brothers in the Muslim Ummah in Iraq and Afghanistan. Muhammad subsequently went to Yemen for jihadist indoctrination with the late American born radical Imam Anwar al-Awlaki and allegedly may have received terrorist training with Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula.  Al-Awlaki nurtured the jihadist actions of a frequent attendee at the mosque, Maj. Nidal Hasan who perpetrated the Fort Hood massacre that killed 13 injuring over 32 soldiers and civilians. Hasan is now awaiting the start a long delayed courts martial for the murders on November 5, 2009 in Killeen, Texas. An FBI raid in 2004 of a northern Virginia home hidden basement led to the secret plans of the MB for Islamization of America. Documents uncovered in that FBI raid were introduced into evidence at the 2008 Federal Dallas trial of the Holy Land Foundation who leaders were convicted of funneling upwards of $35 million in charitable funds to Hamas. The Holy Land Foundation trial also identified several Muslim Brother Fronts as co-conspirators, among them the Islamic Society of North America and CAIR.

There were roiling protests in 2008 over the anti-Semitic and anti-Christian religious studies hate textbooks used at the Islamic Saudi Academy in Fairfax County that we chronicled in the New English review. A practicing physician and member of the Dar al Hijra mosque was stopped on his way in 2008 to prayers at Dar al Hijra by a Fairfax County police officer and found to be carrying ethnical drugs conveyed without prescription to mosque members. His conviction and the subsequent attack against the arresting Fairfax County police officer initiated by CAIR national led us and others to draft national legislation to protect law officers and first responders against civil litigation while engaged in such investigations.

The most recent episode in Wahhabi Alley concerns Sheik Shaker Elsayed, the Imam of the Dar al Hijrah who spoke at a local high school urging Ethiopian Muslim youth to engage in armed Jihad.  Prior to becoming Imam at Dar  al-Hijrah in Herdon the dual Egyptian-Amnerican citizen had been secretary general of MB front, Muslim American Society.

Watch this You Tube video of the Imam speaking to the student group:

A report by John Rossomando from Steve Emerson’s Investigative Project against Terrorism, “Dar al-Hijrah Imam Calls for Armed Jihad” notes what occurred:

Sheik Shaker Elsayed, the imam of the Dar al-Hijrah Mosque in Falls Church, Va., advocated armed jihad before an Ethiopian Muslim group gathered at T.C. Williams High School in Alexandria, Va. Last week.

“Muslim men when it is a price to pay, they are first in line,” Elsayed said in comments seen on a YouTube video found by the Creeping Sharia blog. “They are the first in the prayer line. They are the first in the zakat (charity) line. They are the first in the hajj line. They are the first in the clean-up line. They are the first in the community-service line. They are the first in jihad line. They are the first in the da’wa line.”

“But they are last if anything is being distributed, unless it is arms for jihad,” Elsayed said. “We are the first to rush and run to defend our community and defend ourselves. The enemies of Allah are lining up; the question for us is, ‘Are we lining, or are we afraid because, because they may call us terrorists.’”

Being called “terrorists” should not matter to Muslims because non-Muslims are being called terrorists anyway, Elsayed said.

“You are a terrorist because you are a Muslim,” Elsayed said. “Well give them a run for their money. Make it worth it. Make this title worth it, and be good a Muslim.”

Elsayed then told Muslims to accept peace when they receive peace, but to fight back when their families, communities, nations and dignity come under attack.

He has been Dar al-Hijrah’s imam since 2005. Law enforcement officials have described the mosque as being “associated with Islamic extremists” and “operating as a front for Hamas operatives in U.S.

Elsayed’s comments contradict statements he made in a 2005 interview on National Public Radio.

“I believe there is no apology for terrorism. We condemned it; we condemned it on 9/11, I personally signed a paper on behalf of the organization I worked for at that time and sent it everywhere to the press. I spoke with the press,” Elsayed said.

This isn’t the first time Elsayed has endorsed terrorism. He denounced calling terrorists “suicide bombers, homicide bombers, or murderers, or killers” in a December 2002 speech.

“To decide that this man is a martyr or not a martyr, it is a pure religious matter,” Elsayed said. “Nobody who is not Muslim has any right to decide for us, we the Muslims, whose is a martyr or another. We as Muslims will decide that. It is in-house business.”

His name also appears in a 1991 Muslim Brotherhood document detailing the group’s plan to wage a non-violent civilization jihad to destroy “Western civilization from within.” Notes what occurred:

in a country where federal police are arresting  beating and killing unarmed men  and children, wide reports of rapes, randomly arresting and beating anyone that appears religious, shaking them down for any cash while they are at it

all because this unpopular govt (the muslims were actually on the sidelines and its was predominantly christian oppposing parties) but this govt started to meddle in islamic affairs, appointed a sect from lebanon as the defacto version of islam recognized, shutting down mosques and appointing imams frm this sect in these mosques, the people said enough and they starting the protests which was so succesfful the govt eventually had to move in (  killing 10 people 7 of them women as young as fifteen) arresting the organizing committe members 17 of them and anyone that looked religious and that was in july12, this struggle continues, a year has pased and not a single vi9lent prottest despite many attempt to incite,

if you watch the full speech here you realize that he is saying that no one will listen to you unless you stand up and speak up with all your resources ,which includes your money, numbers, and if need be  your arms

Hmm. The two comments posted appear to be from Muslims in Ethiopia, reciting the well-rehearsed 'we is poor little innocent persecuted petals' line that we hear so often from Muslims around the world.  It's always the eeevil infidels persecuting the poor, peaceful, innocent Muslims...suuuure., pull the other leg, guys, it's got bells on.

These days, I take all such accusations with  heaping tablespoonfuls of salt.

It sounds to me, reading between the lines of the whining complaints posted here, as though the current Ethiopian authorities - in a country that has been majority Christian for over a millennium  surviving as a non-Muslim entity precariously and by repeated use of armed force,  in the midst of an ocean of Islam, and even with a large and dangerous Muslim Fifth Column within its borders (a Muslim Fifth Column that, of late, has carried out not a few murderous and vandalistic attacks upon indigenous Ethiopian Christians, their persons, homes, businesses and churches; our Muslim whiners don't want us to think about those) - are attempting to resist and restrain resurgent Jihad amongst their Muslim Fifth Column.

A hijab ban on university campuses  is no more than what the French have done or at least attempted to do in their schools; more power to the Ethiopians if they have a hijab ban and are prepared to enforce it by expelling those who deliberately and provocatively breach that ban, for the hijab signifies the Sharia and also signifies the intention of imposing the Sharia, and those who wear it might as well be flying the black flag of Jihad.

As for the other accusations, I would not be surprised to discover that there have been Muslim attacks upon Christian communities in Ethiopia [e.g. late in 2011, in the village of Qoto Baloso, Silte province, a Christian church was burnt down by a mob of over 500 Muslims, and there were 'coordinated arson attacks on scores of churches and Christian homes in Jimma Zone in the same year]...Muslims tend to shriekingly accuse others of doing to them (Muslims) what they have either just done to others, or intend to do.  I have seen too many of these sorts of accusations, to be inclined to believe Muslims with their well-rehearsed pantomimes of victimhood.

Here's how I read the situation: Ethiopia is currently about 60 percent Christian and 34 % Muslim, with the remaining 5 percent 'other'.  The Muslims (reinforced by a massive influx of thousands of fervently-Muslim Somalis from across the border, fleeing the hell-pit that Islam has made of Somalia but nevertheless apparently intent on turning Ethiopia into exactly the same hellpit as Somalia now is) obviously feel themselves strong enough to ratchet up the Jihad, and the non-Muslim Ethiopians are resisting.

Here is a summary of what Islam, and Muslims, have been up to in Ethiopia: "Muslims now target this nation for Islamization. - educational, employment and financial inducements are offered, a massive mosque-building program is under way [presumably oil-state-funded - CM], and thousands of wells are being drilled [and I would bet my bottom dollar that, unlike wells drilled by Christian NGOs, wells drilled by Muslim agencies are permitted to be used only by Muslims or by those who convert to Islam; I have heard of this happening in other parts of Africa, it is the sort of thing one expects from Muslims - CM].  Violent, even murderous reactions against evangelistic outreach (i.e. Muslims have murdered Christian preachers - CM) create a climate of religious tension and fear..".
