Protestor barracks Reid as PR offensive descends into farce Bookmark and Share

From The London Evening Standard, lunchtime edition. Expect updates during the afternoon.

John Reid's PR offensive today descended into farce as he was barracked today by an angry protestor as he prepared to make a speech in front of a Muslim audience in east London. Mr Reid was speaking to Muslims in Leytonstone, east London, when a man stood up and began berating him.

"How dare you come to a Muslim area" the protestor shouted at the Home Secretary as he prepared to make a speech urging Muslim parents to look out for the "tell-tale signs" of brainwashing in their children in the global fight against terrorism.

The Home Secretary watched as the protester (who identified himself as Abu Izzadeem) was led from the building by police and stewards. The man accused the Home Secretary of being an "enemy" of Islam. The man continued his impassioned outburst outside.

A second protester was ejected a few minutes later after he also interrupted Mr Reid's speech. He emerged from the venue clutching several posters, one of which said: "John Reid you will pay!" Mr Reid was listing past terrorist attacks around the world, when the first protester began his barracking. He said he was "very irate" and asked how Mr Reid could "dare" come to a Muslim area (Muslim area? I grew up there. The location was kept secret and the audience attended by invitation only, but according to The Times the meeting was held at the Leyton Youth Centre. I did PE lessons there when I was at school. The Islamic concept of sacred space is obviously taking hold) after so many Muslims - "over a thousand" - had been arrested. "You are an enemy of Islam and Muslims," the protester shouted. Shame on all of us for sitting down and listening to him."

The BBC says very little about the heckler, but has a video clip of an unidentified Muslim leader asking "Do they want us to spy on each other?"   And what is it with these men (always men) and the finger? And the supercilious expression? And when did policewomen get so tiny?

Update, got to the BBC here and click the video link to hear John Reid trying to speak and the heckler succeeding in interupting him. Plus a lot of BBC apologism going back to the Forest Gate raid.

((("How dare you come to a Muslim area" the protestor shouted)))

So, now there is a 'Muslim area' of London upon which one must dare to visit?

It's all coming true. Everything people said, about how Muslims will annex, at least in their own minds, parts of cities, and declare them to belong to Muslims, is starting to happen before our very eyes. It wasnt being alarmist. It probably is true that not all Muslims think this way, but some do, and they are controlling the narrative.

I remember this Abu Izzadeem - he is a Jamaican convert and he said in a newsnight interview that the 7/7 bombers were glorious heroes.

Keep it up, Abu! But do remember, there are tens of millions of British people who despise you for your savagery and moronic aggression.

More and more infidels are getting the message.

I can hardly believe the recent change in attitude of several acquaintances who had snubbed me for years, because of my warnings about the religion of peace.

Gentle-natured charmers like Abu are much more persuasive than I am in bringing the erstwhile islamophiles to an awareness of reality.

I don't know how much it helps calling people rag-heads, which is a pejorative term.

Besides, it's not what's on their heads but what's in them--or not. Ditto for their hearts.
