Sweet and fizzy interlude.

video

I'm a secret lemonade drinker from 1973.
This is the only one of the well known adverts for R Whites lemonade available on You Tube. There were several. In one the drinker was in a band called The Thirst, and his wife, in flares, floral smock and a headband (I wore an outfit very similar at the time) brought him a glass of lemonade on stage.
I won't bore you with what brought it to mind.

In America, our lemonade is most emphatically not fizzy. If it's fizzzy, it's soda pop. And I don't know how you folks get by without iced tea. The South would come to a complete standstill without it.

There is an old fashioned homemade drink made from lemons which isn't fizzy.
And some stuff called bitter lemon which can be mixed with gin which isn't very fizzy at all.
So far as soda is concerned there is soda water which is only drinkable with whisky, and I don't like either.
And Cream Soda which I hated as a kid, and which some people drop ice cream into (an ice cream float) which I think is a waste of good ice cream.
But as lemonade goes, for children or for shandy, R Whites is still the best.
