The political inadequacy of Brown's reponse to the Ayatollah is such that it is difficult to avoid the word 'appeasement'.
Apparently Brown would be happy if the Islamic Republic of Iran were to have free and fair elections. He makes no reference to the presentday threats and dangers which the Iranian regime provides in its support for Hamas, Hezbollah, in its nuclear weapons' programme, and pledge to annihilate Israel.
And there are two specifically British grievances which Brown should have about presentday Iran:-
a. ) the attack and capture of British naval patrol in the Gulf in 2007;
b.) the anti-British, anti-Western propaganda being put out 24/7 by the Ahmadinejad regime by its 'PRESSTV' television channel, with a European base in London, while even the dhimmi BBC is censored in Tehran.
But Brown does nothing.
