Sydney, Australia: Muslims deface memorials of Assyrian war heroes and victims of jihad genocide
From the 'Fairfield Advance', Sydney , 31st August - reporters Carleen Frost and Melissa Matheson.
I was originally alerted to this story by the Australian Islamist Monitor, a very useful Aussie website.
'Assyrian Monuments Desecrated'.

'Police have launched a public appeal for information about the vandalism of two Assyrian memorials over the weekend.
'A plaque in Honour Avenue, Fairfield, was covered in silver paint on Friday night (note well: Friday night: after Friday 'prayers' at the nearest mosque, perhaps? - CM) while a new monument in Bonnyrigg was spray-painted with graffiti early yesterday morning.
'Both monuments honour the Assyrian community but have slightly different significance.
'The Assyrian Levis Association plaque in Fairfield honours the Assyrian and Australian troops who fought alongside one another in World War One (note: that would have been in the Middle East, against the Turks, i.e. against Muslims - CM).
'The monument in Bonnyrigg, erected by the Assyrian Universal Alliance, pays tribute to victims of genocide'.
('Victims of genocide'. To be specific, this monument commemorates the 750 000 Assyrian Christians who between 1915 and 1918 were killed by Turkish, Kurdish and Arab Muslims within the domains of the 'Ottoman Empire'; and, too, the Assyrians who were massacred by Muslims in Simmele, Iraq, in August of 1933. - CM).
'The monument was only officially unveiled last month'
[i.e. in July 2010. It should be remembered that Turkish Muslims in Australia - and the government of Turkey itself - kicked and screamed and whined and threatened and did everything they could to persuade Fairfield Council, the local government body involved, to stop the building of the memorial; but the Council stuck to their guns and voted to build it, and it was built - CM].
'Assyrian Universal Alliance spokesman Hermiz Shahen is calling on the police to find those responsible. "The Assyrian Universal Alliance strongly condemns this act and demands that the perpetrators be brought to justice," Mr Shahen said. "We assure everyone that the Assyrian Universal Alliance will see to it that the monument is restored to its original state, regardless of how many times it is vandalised."
(That's the spirit, mate. But I'd also advise motion detectors and concealed CCTV/ webcam so that next time you can catch the blighters in the act - CM).
'Assyrian Levis Association president Gaby Kiwarkis said vandalising a war memorial was a low act. "If those who committed this dereadful act think a can of paint can hide the magnificence of our Assyrian and Australian service personnel or tarnish their good name, they best think again," he said. 'I don't expect these people to understand the sacrifice made by our troops so we can all live together peacefully in this wonderful country and be free to honour our fallen without fear of retaliation.."...
The report doesn't describe or quote the offending graffiti but it does include a link
fairfield-advance.whereilive.com.au/photos/gallery/assyrian-memorial-attacked/
to some photos which clearly show that the vandals painted the star and crescent symbol of Islam (which is also found on the Turkish flag) onto the globe that forms part of the genocide monument, and scrawled the taunt 'Assyrian dogs' on the plinth.
As soon as I heard this memorial was a-building I felt sure it would be attacked by Muslim vandals. It seems that I was right.
