Anjem Choudary, hostages and Mullah Krekar

From The Foreigner, Norwegian News in English

Anjem Choudary, former spokesperson to the banned British group Islam4UK, has warned that hostages might be taken in order to secure the release of Mullah Krekar. He believes that Norway is trying to appease Americans in their war on terror, reports NRK. He told the broadcaster, “my message is that Muslims in other countries must do everything they can to free Muslims from jail.”

According to historian and social commentator Lars Gule, it was difficult to say how seriously Choudary’s should be taken, nonetheless. “This is pretty new and it remains to be seen if it is something someone is going to react to. I allow myself to doubt, because Choudary is unlikely to have enough influence to affect any of the countries where most Jihadists are active,”

Dear old Anjem denies that he said any such thing. He says

MORE NORWEGIAN MEDIA LIES TO SUPPORT WAR AGAINST MUSLIMS! Reports in Norway today have stated that I am asking Muslims abroad to take Norwegians hostage in return for the release of Mullah Krekar. This is simply not true but rather I have stated that western hostages are already in the hands of Muslims in various countries such as in Iraq, Afghanistan and in Somalia etc… and a decent option for both parties might be to consider exchanging hostages, the non-Muslims already being held for Muslim hostages held in the West such as Sheikh Abu Qatada and Mullah Krekar.

In addition it is the Islamic position that Muslims are obliged to do all they can to release Muslim hostages wherever they are being held and this will usually involve helping with the legal fees, making awareness about their plight, exposing the oppression which they are facing at the hands of barbaric regimes such as the Norwegian, the US and British regimes etc

Attempts by the Western media, such as this latest one by the Norwegians, is not uncommon where first a Muslim is tried and found guilty by the media and then ministers and police respond to the frenzy into which the masses are whipped. A person living in the West is today innocent until proven Muslim. Laws are specifically targeted just at Muslims, longer sentences are set aside for Muslims, Judges are picked who are already biased against Muslims and police and prosecution services are prejudiced against Muslims.

This is the interview he gave to the Norwegian press. Judge for yourself - they sound like threats to Norwegian soldiers in Afghanistan to me. Also he points to the Houses of Parliament (this is filmed in Westminster, instantly recognisable to the international audience) as says all this man made law will be stripped away and replaced with sharia, and the black flag will fly on top.

But I warn you, its 13 minutes of your life you won't get back.

"According to historian and social commentator Lars Gule"

Philosopher and self appointed expert on "extremism" (that's us). He is also a former DFLP terrorist.

From Wikipedia:

...However, the DFLP asked Gule to carry out an armed operation in Israel in early June 1977. Gule has explained that the DFLP proposed three targets for him: a bomb could be placed either be in a pedestrian underpass in Tel Aviv, in the President Hotel in Jerusalem or outside an apartment complex with gas containers outside in what was called a “bourgeois neighborhood”." He rejected these targets as he was skeptical of what could be regarded as terrorism. “The suspect had made it known to his employers that he did not want to take human life. The purpose of the explosion was to mark the 10th anniversary of the war in 1967, strengthen the Palestinians' fighting spirit and morale”, he said later during interrogation to the Norwegian police.[3] He did not succeed in engaging the DFLP in a discussion on a more symbolic target.[2]

As it was not possible to travel directly from Lebanon to Israel, Gule was to travel back to Norway where he was to procure a new passport (without Arab visas) before he went on to Israel after a few weeks, during the time he would consider if he could participate in such an operation. He received a plane ticket to Europe and $ U.S 1,300 from the DFLP, to cover the other travel expenses.[4]

At the security check in Beirut International Airport on 6 May when Gule was about to leave Lebanon, a security officers found approximately 750 grams of plastic explosives hidden in the covers of books Gule had in his backpack. He was eventually handed over to the Lebanese intelligence service and after harsh interrogations,[5] Gule confessed to his cooperation with the DFLP. Gule has explained how he was exposed to torture, including being beaten under the soles of the feet and threatened with liquidation.[2][6][7]

Gule was sentenced to six months prison in Lebanon and a fine for the “illegal possession of weapons” (i.e. explosives). He was acquitted of attempting to carry out terrorist acts using explosives.[8]

.....After the terrorist attacks in Norway 22 July 2011, Gule has been interviewed and cited by both Norwegian and international media as a commentator on extremism, terrorism and multicultural issues, especially since he had “discussed” with Anders Behring Breivik on the website Document.no.
