Breaking News: Megamosque Nixed for Now

Esmerelda, our Roving Reporter (this is not a time to avoid clichés),  has just phoned/texted from the heart of the protest near Stratford Old Town Hall to say that permission for the Megamosque has been refused.

The decision must be ratified by the office of Boris Johnson, non-Lord Mayor of London, who had better not turn again. There may also be an appeal.

Esmerelda will file a full report when she gets back.

Rejoice!

Multiculturalism is not about integration but about cultural plurality. It is not about separation but about respect and the deepening awareness of Unity in Diversity. Each culture will maintain its own intrinsic value and at the same time would be expected to contribute to the benefit of the whole society. Multiculturalism can accommodate diversity of all kinds – cultural, philosophical and religious – so that we can create a world without conflict and strife. Britain can assume the role of accommodation and concern for all peoples, for our planet and indeed for our survival. Multi-culturalism is even more important and crucial after 9/11 and 7/7. Muslim youths are also likely to feel alienated by a focus on shared Brutishness, rather than multicultural diversity. Rather than promoting a single British “us teaching should acknowledge that “us can be diverse and plural. Children should be encouraged to explore differences in appearance, history and religion to reduce social and educational fears. The pressures of multi-culturalism, racism, bullying and Islamophobia have forced the Muslim community to set up their own schools. There are hundreds of state and church schools where Muslim pupils are in majority. In my opinion all such schools may be opted out as Muslim Academies with bilingual Muslim teachers as role models. Such schools will be able to satisfy the needs and demands of the Muslim children and their parents.

Someone must have told Tablighi Jamaat about this site: even their propaganda for deliberate non-integration (avoiding 'shared brutishness' I notice - I doubt if they are referring to  any on their part ) has an ugly look to it.

Here you are Ifthicker, spreading your dawa wide and far among the najis kuffar.   Your meaningless phrases are useless on the innoculated.  If you have a family in the West get them out while you can, The game is about up and when the economic walls tumble  many will vent their own fears and grievances on you and your fellow  travelers.

Ifthikar, you rather give the game away when you begin spouting on about the virtues of multiculturalism and diversity and then end by advocating separate schools for muslims. We know damn well that multiculturalism is simply the perfect cover for you and your ilk to pursue cultural imperialism and the eventual creation of an Islamic monoculture.

My sister recently went by bus through the whole Birmingham conurbation and said the only beautiful building she saw was the mosque.
