The same thought struck me when I listened to the news this afternoon. Remember as well that when he first ascended to the Papacy, the Muslims made a big fuss about a historical book he had written decades previously about the harrying of Constaninople. They claimed that this proved he was 'an Islamophobe'. You can't talk truth to power when it comes to these people.

Erasmus wrote that in great things, it is enough to have tried. Ave et vale, Holiness.
The successor, hopefully, will reignite true, total and absolute rejection of islam and all its works and will endeavor to eradicate the appeasement that is eroding civilization and allowing savages to run amok. Islamo delenda est.

Let those of us who are praying people, religious people, pray like blazes, all during this coming season of Lent, for the election of a non-dhimmi Pope, a Pope who will stand up and say No to Muslims, and call it like it is. Who won't submit and won't shut up.
One of the hot favourites is a Nigerian; if the Catholic church got itself a black African Pope who was NOT a dhimmi, who was prepared to speak up for his suffering people - and for all of the persecuted Church, Catholic and non-Catholic, and for all the non-Muslim victims of Jihad and of Muslim oppression - and invoked the intercession of Blessed Saint Josephina Bakhita, then things could get interesting.
A deal: Catholic NER readers, I will pray that you get a non-dhimmi Pope; in exchange will you, please, pray for me and the rest of the world's Anglicans, that the new bloke that we're getting will either a/ turn out a non-dhimmi or b/ get UN-dhimmi'ed, fast.
I'm hoping that the encouraging signs of backbone shown recently by the new chap in charge of the Egyptian Copts, may be a harbinger of things to come among other branches of the Church Universal.
PS - for Alix, I think it would be more correct to write 'Islamia delenda est', or 'delenda est Islamia'. Latinists with more command of the language than I - please advise.

Historically, about a third of all the Popes were murdered, making Pope even more dangerous than commercial fisherman.
