The Rutherford Reader vs. Politically Correct Corporate America

Apparently it takes only one person to yell Hate Speech! and the largest corporations duck for cover, and in this case, they threw a small mom and pop publication into the line of fire instead. The Rutherford Reader is a free paper distributed in Murfreesboro Tennessee, about 45 minutes south of Nashville. The hate speech crime they're accused of is running articles from Family Security Matters, which sometime cover issues concerning Islam. The distributor which stocks the local chain grocery store, Distributech, said they reviewed the paper and agreed with the complaint made by a Mr. Anthony Mijares and promptly pulled the paper from Krogers grocery stores in the area. Mr. Mijares then visited the local Kentucky Fried Chicken and complained. They likewise pulled the paper. Then he made a visit to the Chamber of Commerce, which also pulled the paper from their counter.

Meanwhile, The Reader has received a flood of phone calls and emails from local people in support. Krogers Corporate headquarters and Kentucky Fried Chicken Corporation sided with the suppression of free speech on the single complaint of one person.
