Merkel is out of control: Germans start large protests against migrants and open borders

by Verity True

There have been two protests against migration in Germany in the past few days and that may be cause for some optimism. On 20th January about 2500 protesters gathered in Cottbus, after two recent local attacks earlier in the year: One in which three Syrian youths attacked a married couple with a knife and a few days later when a 15-year-old Syrian injured a 16- year-old German.

The other protest was held on Sunday in the small town of Kandel where a 15-year-old German girl was brutally murdered by her ex- boyfriend, an Afghan asylum seeker. Fifteen-year-old Mia was stabbed to death with a kitchen knife in front of a drugstore on December 27, allegedly by her former boyfriend, also 15. The town of 8500 managed to rouse 1000 protesters who gathered in the main square with banners reading “Safety for our children". However, across the street there were also those with banners saying, “Stand up against racism.” Local authorities claimed that most anti-migrant demonstrators were not locals but had instead travelled from across Germany to Kandel ahead of the protest. There will be another protest on 3rd February in Cottbus.

Also Posted on Little Notes from Paris is a short clip of a speaker presumably from AfD. Titled a ‘Parable of an Invasion’ this is a short, neat allegory of what’s going on in Germany today:

When the house of your neighbor is destroyed by a catastrophic flood, and you offer the thusly stricken victim a roof over his head, you are a good person. If you then continue to accommodate and feed your neighbor, you are a very generous person. When your neighbor does not want to leave your house after the flood is over, but continues to live at your expense, and you accept this, then you are an almost pathologically selfless person. If you still entertain him after he has started to interfere in your life to disregard or condemn your customs and demands that you discard old habits in deference to him, e.g. stop eating certain foods, then you are probably a bit crazy. When on top of that you meekly accept that he is claiming more and more rooms in your house and treats you aggressively for being “unclean” you need urgent help. If you still insist that he remains, even after he attacks your daughters “laundry”, begins to collect weapons in the basement and threatens violence if you do not include him with equal rights in the lease, then you are completely insane and any help for you comes nearly too late. And if the property manager declares on behalf of the mayor that your former neighbor’s and co-tenant’s behavior is perfectly appropriate, and that he has the same right to your house as you and everyone else, and that your holy duty now is to renovate his flood damaged former residence, then you are probably living in the “best Germany ever”.
