The Handshake In Tobago That Sent Shock Waves
The handshakes between President Obama and Venezuelan Marxist dictator Chavez and Nicaraguan leader Daniel Ortega looks reminiscent of what British Prime Minister 'peace in our time' Neville Chamberlain and French Prime Minister Deladier did with Herr Hitler and IL Duce with the dismemberment of Czechoslovakia at Munich in 1938.
The handshake at the Americas Summit in Trinidad/Tobago between Obama and President for Life Hugo Chavez of Venezuela and Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega bespeaks of appeasement, anti-Americanism and anti-Semitism, given Chavez continuing drum roll of propaganda against the US and actions against the small Venezuelan Jewish community depriving them of liberty and worse. Chavez called Obama an 'ignoramus' in late March:
"He goes and accuses me of exporting terrorism: the least I can say is that he's a poor ignoramus; he should read and study a little to understand reality," said Chavez, who heads a group of left-wing Latin American leaders opposed to the U.S. influence in the region.

And note this comment from a pro-Chavez Venezuelan supporters just before the recent Israeli Operatiion Cast Lead in Gaza:
One week before the invasion, a Chavista columnist named Emilio Silva posted a call to action on Aporrea, a pro-government Web site, describing Jews as "squalid" _ a term Chavez often uses to describe his opponents as weak _ and exhorting Venezuelans to confront them as anti-government conspirators.
"Publicly challenge every Jew that you find in the street, shopping center or park," he wrote, "shouting slogans in favor of Palestine and against that abortion: Israel."
Moreover, Chavez is an integral part of Iran's 'double lasso' strategy against America in the Western hemisphere that features diplomatic relations and economic development assistance to Marxist countries. It also includes supporting the blocs of Sh'ia Hezbollah and Hamas supporters in the triangle area of Brazil, Paraguay and Argentina and engaging in training of terrorists for possible actions against US interests in the hemisphere. After all, Iran and Hezbollah undertook actions in Panama and Argentina in1992 and 1994 killing and injuring hundreds of Panamanian and Argentinian Jews and Israelis.
Note this paen of praise by Chavez to China and Iran in this April 10th comment in Beijing:
On Tuesday night he told reporters: "The unipolar world has collapsed. The power of the US empire has collapsed. Every day, the new poles of world power are becoming stronger. Beijing, Tokyo, Tehran … it's moving towards the East and towards the South.."
So are we to assume that President Obama's sudden embrace of Marxist dictators like Chavez, Ortega and Castro constitutes a further unveiling of his agenda for America as well. Reflect on the eruption of hate here against the Tea Parties on Tax day and the mindless release, the same day of the "Right Wing Extremism" alert report by the US Department of Homeland Security and castigation of returning Veterans supported by Madame Secretary Napolitano. Is there a danger that the Administration will use the powers of the Patriot Act against its critics in violation of our First Amendment rights of free speech? That could be the result of improving this country's relations with Marxist countries in the Americas and with the Islamic Republic of Iran that lies behind Obama's photo op hand shake with Marxist President for Life Hugo Chavez of Venezuela.

But Ortega sent low cost oil to New England to heat poor peoples homes, when our government would not help. He may be a marxist, but he has some compassion. He has screwed up the rich too much, but they now pay their taxes. Remember that if we had quickly worked with Castro when he took over from a brutal facist, he would have stayed with us. We (the USA) have made many many political mistakes over the last 50 years that have ruined our reputation with the poorer countrys of the world. Its about time someone has begun to see the light. Might is not always right.

Will the Administration will use the powers of the Patriot Act against its critics in violation of our First Amendment rights of free speech?
Yes, eventually "they" will use the powers of the Patriot Act against "us" and that is exactly what I thought the day the day it was passed.

At least our commander-in-chief did not bow or curtsey to the dictator. On the other hand, shouldn't Chavez be offended by having been shown less respect and deference than his fellow OPEC cartelist? President Obama should do what he does best and apologize for the snub before Venezuela retaliates by shutting off the oil supply.
