Horace Greeley, who gave much of his wealth to communal societies, a "gun toting plutocrat"?
On the contrary, he managed to even occasionally encourage credible activity among the Fourierists.
"I dislike to see men in advanced life working for salaries in places where perhaps they are ordered about by boys. I would like to see them working for themselves."
What he was guilty of was utopianism. Some plutocrat.
