Now, if a large crowd of New Yorkers gathered at Penrith Station, there's a good chance one would have ignored the warning and been sucked off.  He or his heirs would, of course, have sued, as would several others falsely claiming to have suffered a similar fate.  Still others would have immediately filed on the basis of having been traumatized by watching the act, and still more would have striven for the Great American Dream after having recovered their "repressed memories."
And yes, john, that's a platform some politicians would be glad to stand behind.
