Three Afghan asylum seekers jailed for 20 years for grooming and sexually exploiting vulnerable girl
Update on this trial I posted about last night. As I suspected the local and natinal newspapers waited until sentencing before making their report. From The Yorkshire Post and BBC Hull and East Yorkshire The Hull Daily Mail doesn’t say much beyond the police statement.
Three men convicted of grooming and sexually exploiting a vulnerable teenage girl jeered and swore at the victim as they were jailed.
Hamdulluh Hamdadd, 24, and Rafiullah Naseri, 21, both of Hull, were found guilty of child sexual exploitation and paying for the sexual services of a child, while Amjid Akakhail, 22, of Wakefield, was found guilty of paying for sexual services of a child following a trial at Hull Crown Court.
Judge Alex Menary said Hamdadd took her back to his house on Park Grove, had sex with her and as she was leaving arranged for Rafiullah Naseri, 20, to wait outside and encouraged her to go with him “for sex for money to take place”.

In her victim impact statement read to the court, the teenager said she felt they had “preyed on her vulnerability” and she still gets flashbacks, has nightmares and struggles to sleep. A “fusty” smell recalls her to their house and she has to remind herself “it isn’t happening again.”
She said how difficult it was to stand up in the witness box, but the result showed her “people like me can be believed and listened to.”
Hamdadd and Naseri were each jailed for eight years after being convicted of child sex exploitation and paying for the sexual services of a child between July and November last year.
Naseri, also known as Shaheen, of Spring Bank, Hull, was given leave to remain until 2029, after arriving in the UK by small boat.
Hamdadd had earlier guilty to possession of an extreme pornographic image and an indecent image.
Amjid Akakhail, 22, of Pearson Street in Wakefield, arrived in the UK on a small boat in September 2024 and was refused asylum last year. An appeal is ongoing.
He was given four years for paying a child for sexual services and had also pleaded guilty to possessing an indecent image.
As the men were taken down to the cells, Hamdadd made derogatory gestures towards the victim who was in the public gallery.
Mocking laughter was heard as the three were escorted out by security officers.
