Advent Calendar 10th December

These “seasonal suggestions” were offered in 1904 in a woman’s magazine. 

I wonder what they meant by ‘dainty’ perfume for Grandmother? Have you ever seen an enormous clumsy perfume?  Maybe they meant a delicate smell, not heavy and musky. 

Sadly the maid doesn’t get anything with a nice smell. An apron or warm gloves is her lot.
