‘Armed man arrested’ at Disneyland Paris hotel

A man armed with two hand guns and carrying a Koran has been arrested at a hotel in Disneyland Paris, according to reports on Thursday. The man had at least two firearms and a copy of the Koran, as well as ammunition, according to several reports in the French media.
He was arrested early on Thursday afternoon as he tried to enter the New York Hotel at Disneyland Paris, with his guns setting off the alarms at the security gates. Le Parisien newspaper said the man … was with a woman who fled the scene
The local prosecutor praised the quick thinking of the security workers at the scene. “It remains unknown if the person intended to cause any harm.”
The man, 28, is understood to have made a reservation at the hotel, and was already known to police for a minor traffic infringement, reported Le Parisien.
Update: the woman accompanying him has also been apprehended and arrested according to CBS news
PARIS — A French police official says a woman has been detained at Disneyland Paris soon after police apprehended her male partner who was found with two handguns and a Quran at Europe’s most-visited amusement park.
The official said the woman didn’t appear to be armed and no other suspects are currently being pursued at the park east of Paris.. . She wasn’t authorized to be publicly named according to police policy.
