A Whisper

by Michael Shindler (April 2022)

The Park, Gustav Klimt, 1910

A whisper makes its way
In the night’s greenery,
Going where it may
Through the scenery.

But it stops at a broken bowl,
Perhaps cast aside during a picnic,
With gilding at the rim.
