Soldier in Tommy Robinson video to be discharged from army

I'm on holiday at the moment so haven't been able to post the original story, which is that Tommy Robinson bumped into some young soldiers from Caterick garrison at a service station on the M1 (a major motorway to the north of England.) They were pleased to see him. He was cheered. His name was sung. Photographs were taken and later distributed. Tommy declared himself to be touched and honoured by their support. The army, however, rapidly becoming as subservient to  political correctness as the police took a dim view and "investigated".

The rumour tonight was that the young soldier who took the public picture has been discharged from service. This is diabolical. This is from Exeter Radio

Sky News was told the recruit had a long record of disciplinary problems. This was the straw that broke the camel's back," a source said. My husband predicted, correctly, that this excuse would be made.

When the footage first emerged, the army said it was aware and "investigating the circumstances surrounding this".

"Anyone who is in breach of the army's values and standards will face administrative action," a spokeswoman said.  Far-right ideology is completely at odds with the values and ethos of the armed forces.

"The armed forces have robust measures in place to ensure those exhibiting extremist views are neither tolerated nor permitted to serve. Values and standards within the army play a vital role in training and development, with personnel completing annual mandatory training."
