Pakistan Christian Asia Bibi has arrived in Canada, lawyer confirms

Praise the Lord. From CNN, the BBC and the Daily Mail

...last night the Daily Mail was told that she had been allowed to leave at last. The development means she is finally safe from lynch mobs who were demanding her execution.

Pakistan confirms Asia Bibi, Christian woman who spent years on death row convicted of blasphemy, left for Canada

Islamabad, Pakistan (CNN)Asia Bibi, a Pakistani Christian woman freed from death row last year has arrived in Canada, according to her lawyer, Saif Ul Malook.

Last October she was freed on appeal, sparking violent demonstrations stoked up by Taliban supporters.

She was put under armed protection from Islamist death squads as she sought asylum in a Western country.

Britain was urged to offer her sanctuary, but never did – and was accused of ‘pulling up the drawbridge’. Shameful!

Eventually, Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau stepped in. Her daughters are already there, awaiting their mother.

This is extraordinarily good news. I do hope that the Canadian equivalent of the SAS has been assigned to her personal security... and let us also hope that, somewhere quiet and peaceful and beautiful she is getting all the spiritual and medical care that she no doubt needs.. and time with her family... and will be able to attend Catholic Christian worship and receive the sacrament. I do not know whether, in all her years in prison, she was able to receive any kind of pastoral care from a priest. Now she will be able to attend the great Feast of Pentecost, in a free majority-non-Islamic country. Let us pray that, once she has rested and recovered somewhat, she may be able to give her testimony to her fellow-Christians in Canada - she, this courageous confessor of Christ. May her testimony bear much fruit within the Church in Canada.

Thank goodness!

I pray for the safety and peace of Asia Bibi and her family in Canada. But, it must be noted that Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has sabotaged the immigration system. He allows entry to everybody and anybody from the Islamic world, including both ISIS fighters and their victims, respectively. He gifted Guantanamo terrorist Omar Khadr with an amazing $10 million.

For all his faults, Trudeau deserves kudos for this one. Asia Bibi is what responsible immigration should look like, and not the open door to hordes of her fellow countrymen, the ones who behaved like a bunch of foaming-at-the-mouth barbarians towards decent people like her.
