On the last night of Hanukkah a Jewish Rabbi in a suburban New York area was hosting a Hanukkah party. A machete wielding madman broke into house killing one man and injuring five others. Two were severely injured and their survival is still in doubt. The thug attempted to flee but was picked up two hours later by the police.
Governor Cuomo said this attack marked the 13th unprovoked assault against Jews in the greater New York City area in the last eight days. Clearly some group has declared open season on the Jews in New York City. Hate filled words have dire consequences. Louis Farrakhan, leader of the Nation of Islam, who has about a million followers constantly disperses the most vile, virulent form of Jew hatred I have ever heard. There seems to be no consequences for Louis Farrakhan or the Nation of Islam. The Nation of Islam blames the Jews for every bad thing that happens in the world.
It is time someone stood up for the Jews. Even though I am a Christian I have known many Jews over the last sixty years. The majority of them have been good, industrious people. But above all else the man I claim as my Savior, one Jesus of Nazareth, was a Jew. He was born Jewish, lived his life as a Jew, died a Jew and was resurrected as a Jew. Remember what starts with the Jews, never stays with the Jews. It always continues its hate-filled progress to Christians ultimately. So the act of protecting the Jewish people becomes ultimately an act of self-protection for Christians. Never again in history must anything like the Holocaust be allowed to gain traction on the world stage. The Jews have often been called "the canary in the coal mine." And right now the coal mine is filling with deadly toxic fumes.
