OUCH! Technology Brings Instant Relief

by Reg Green

There being no printing presses in New England, when the Puritan settlers wanted to publish a book, a fragile ship sailing across the North Atlantic to London had to carry the sole copy of a work they might have spent years writing.

Think of watching that ship sail away, your mind filled with fears of shipwreck, fire, deluges of saltwater, carelessness at any stage.

What if the ship had bad luck and the superstitious crew blamed it on an evil book? Suppose a cold, wet seaman used it as kindling!

The magic of laptops has made all those months of anxiety a thing of the past. Now, by pressing the wrong key, I can lose a manuscript instantly.

Mr. Green, The likelihood of losing a manuscript from your computer with a single keystroke is exceptionally small. However, there are several known key combinations that will do this easily. It's a shame that you apparently don't know these keystrokes because it would have been beneficial has you used them, for example, to lose this sienfeldian post about nothing before you were able to post it for your reader victims.

Poor old Sour Beer Lou. Like the kids in Grapes of Wrath, he's got the howlin' skitters again.

Mr Green, Since nobody else will hold you accountable for very low quality meaningless publications about nothing, such as this one, I've taken it upon myself to help. It is your responsibility as a writer to learn something from these criticisms rather than dismiss them as merely insult which they are not. If you refuse to learn you're not a writer at all. I wish you well and hope that your next posts don't suck.

"low quality meaningless publications about nothing"
I would say that describes most of your commentary here very well and Mr. Green's postings not well at all.

Dear Anonymous, Thank you for your support against Sour Beer Lou's frothing. Let's give him one thing. In just his last sentence ("I wish you well and hope that your next posts don't suck.") he has produced a combination of muddle, anger, semi-literacy, vulgarity and monumental insincerity in a dozen monosyllabic words that is truly iconic. I'm forwarding it to Guinness.
