The Nature of the 1916 Easter Rising and the Centennial Anniversary
clear

by Robert Harris (April 2016)

A relatively small number of undeniably brave fighters, led by Padraig [Patrick] Pearse, took by force the possession of several landmark sites in Dublin City, as well as two other areas of Ireland: Athenry (Galway), and Enniscorthy (Wexford), on Easter Monday 1916. They also successfully fought a small battle in Ashbourne (Meath). They declared, with the reading of the Proclamation of the Provisional Government of the Irish Republic, on the steps of the GPO (General Post Office) at O’Connell Street (Dublin’s main thoroughfare), an independent Irish nation, free of the shackles of the British Empire.  more>>>

Does ISIS Possess Saddam Hussein’s WMDs?

An interview with Ken Timmerman by Mike Bates and Jerry Gordon (April 2016)

Following his South Carolina victory, GOP Presidential front runner Donald Trump was on Fox News Sunday with Chris Wallace on February 21, 2016 when the subject of the War in Iraq came up. Trump contended it was a disaster. He pointed toward the result, Iran taking over Iraq and its oil reserves, something he alleges would stop if he were elected President. Trump was on record in an interview with Howard Stern in September 2002 tentatively supporting the Iraq war, but later questioning its cost. Wallace’s question was triggered by an exchange with Anderson Cooper of CNN during the South Carolina town hall on February 19th. His comment about WMDs in Iraq caught a wave of attention.  more>>>

Dunces and Doctrines
clear

by G. Murphy Donovan (April 2016)

Jeffrey Goldberg has the April Fool’s cover of The Atlantic this Spring, a confectioner’s  assessment of seven some odd years of the team Obama foreign policy. Celebrity journalism is usually classified as either an orchid or an onion. Either/or because there are few media outlets these days that are truly “fair and balanced.” The politics of the left, and far left, dominates most political coverage today. Goldberg’s treatment of the Obama years is no exception.  more>>>

Demographics: Why Islamic Societies are Dying
clear

by Ibn Warraq (April 2016)

One of the most startling and original  books I have read in the last five years is surely David P. Goldman’s How Civilizations Die (And Why Islam is Dying too).[1]

Right from the beginning of his Introduction, Goldman shatters so many of our strongly held beliefs that we are left reeling, and pondering the truly disturbing implications of his conclusions, which are all backed by statistics from recognized sources such as the United Nations. Here are some of his observations from his dramatic introduction, “For the first time in history, the birth rate of the whole developed world is well below replacement, and a significant part of it has passed the demographic point of no return.”  more>>>

Danger of Islamist Terrorism: Be Not Afraid
clear

by Michael Curtis (April 2016)

No good deed goes unpunished. The campaign by the U.S., Western countries, Kurds, and Russia against ISIS has succeeded up to a point. ISIS, the self-created Islamic Caliphate is shrinking. It has lost about 40 per cent of the territory it held in Iraq, and 20 per cent in Syria, and lost cities including Mosul, Ramadi, and Palmyra, the UNESCO World Heritage Site, and is in danger of losing Raqqa. However, as a result, ISIS has changed its priority. Its objective now is to increase influence, not expand territory, and to export terrorism.  more>>>

The UN is a Plastic Owl
clear

by A.J. Caschetta (April 2016)

Urban dwellers know the plastic owl. In an effort to scare pigeons from roofs, ledges and window sills, they strap and screw them in place hoping that the appearance of a predator might yield the same results as the real thing. In the suburbs, plastic owls are conscripted to watch over backyard gardens warding off four-legged pests. But birds are smart. Once they learn that a predator look-alike poses no real danger, they resume their perches in bold and fearless defiance where they defecate on city buildings with impunity. Mammals too know that an owl that never moves is not an owl, so across America they eat vegetables in the shadows of fake predators.  more>>>

Lars Hedegaard: Free Speech Warrior Fighting the Islamization of Europe
clear

A discussion with Lisa Benson and Jerry Gordon (April 2016)

Lars Hedegaard Founder of the Danish and International Free Press Societies was interviewed on The Lisa Benson Show, Sunday, March 13, 2016. Hedegaard discussed his struggle and survival fighting a Palestinian émigré shooter disguised as a Danish postman in an attempted assassination in February 2013. Today Hedegaard lives under 24/7 protection by the Danish security police in what he calls "a near Fort Knox-like complex." He addressed Denmark’s inundation by the current massive wave of Muslim immigration, desperate assertion of border control and the repression of free speech concerning the Islamization of Europe.  more>>>

Christopher Dickey and “Anti-Muslim Hysteria”
clear

by Hugh Fitzgerald (April 2016)

After the latest attacks in Brussels, Christopher Dickey, a senior American journalist based in Paris, was alarmed. What alarmed him was not the homicidal hatred of Muslim terrorists or the Islamic State’s demonstrated ability to wreak havoc in yet another European capital. No, he was worried that “rampant Islamophobia” would only increase because of this attack, and “make it more and more difficult for Muslims and Arabs to integrate into European society. The level of suspicion is very high, and that translates into xenophobic politics. The kind of thing we see with Geert Wilders in the Netherlands, or Marine Le Pen in France, or the really, really fascist Nazi parties in… Greece. So I think all of that translates into a situation of more and more of a cultural divide. Harder and harder to integrate people. And then that, of course, will be used for more recruiting by the jihadists.”  more>>>

Dhimmitude at 10 Downing
clear

by Sha'i ben-Tekoa (April 2016)

In February, British Prime Minister David Cameron occasioned much gnashing of teeth in Israel by calling Israel’s presence in Jerusalem an “occupation” and settlements “illegal.” Nevertheless, this writer, although based in Judea -- what Cameron likely calls “occupied Palestinian territory” -- is going to defend him. He was only doing his duty as the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom and pro-Israelites have to understand that without rancor.  more>>>

Stand Up and Fight Islamization of the West: an interview with Paul L. Weston of Liberty GB
clear

by Jerry Gordon (April 2016)

On April 26, 2014, Paul L. Weston, founder of the Liberty GB party, was arrested at Winchester Guild Hall in London for reciting an excerpt from Sir Winston Churchill’s River War, attacking the barbaric Islamic Qur’anic doctrine. The River War concerned the British campaign in 1898 that defeated the Mahdi’s Jihadi army in the Sudan which had enslaved Sudanese Africans and subjected all in his conquered realm to a brutal form of Salafism.  more>>>

What Now?
clear

by Robert Wolfe (April 2016)

In recent weeks I have seen a number of articles, all of which contend that now that everyone sees that there is no chance of a two state solution at present, the time has come for a discussion of alternative ways of resolving the Arab-Israeli conflict. And no doubt this is true, but I find it significant that the authors of these articles do not themselves put forward any alternatives.  more>>>

Israel and the Critics
clear

by Samuel Hux (April 2016)

A recent article (11/30/2015) in the Jerusalem Post asks “Should Your Child Go To A College Whose Faculty Supports The Anti-Semitic Boycott Against Israel?” I take it “A Significant Number of Whose faculty.  .  .” would make an already long headline too long, so I will accept “Whose Faculty.  .  .  .”  I have no offspring still young enough to be choosing a college, but had I it would not be easy to find a reputable college free of the disgrace of the BDS movement (boycott, divestment, sanctions). But since I have spent most of my professional career attached to one of the institutions the article mentions, The City University of New York, third in BDS members behind NYU and Princeton, the question has a certain resonance for me.  more>>>

Israel and Brussels: The "Merely Wounded" in Terror Bombings
clear

by Louis René Beres (April 2016)

Back in 2009, the now-infamous Goldstone Report was first released by the U.N.’s Human Rights Council. Incontestably, it took a blatantly one-sided look at Israel’s Operation Cast Lead in Gaza, choosing, in its biased assessment, to ignore all antecedent anti-Israel terrorism. Perhaps most conspicuously disregarded, by Judge Goldstone, was this: Israel's purposefully limited military operation had represented an indispensable self-defense action, one that was also supported by long-standing, codified and customary, international law.  more>>>

2016: The Wages of Dynastic Politics
clear

by Conrad Black (April 2016)

The moment of truth is at hand for the Republicans. Much of the last 35 years of American political history was determined when James A. Baker, George H. W. Bush's campaign manager when he sought the presidential nomination in 1980, persuaded Bush to retire from the race before the Pennsylvania primary, as Bush was likely to win it, but Reagan had already secured the nomination. This brought Bush the vice-presidential nomination, and he coasted all the way into the White House eight years later. Bush allowed his party to be split by the semi-delusional mountebank billionaire Ross Perot, which enabled Bill Clinton to be elected president. Clinton had squeaked through to the Democratic nomination after giving the country a foretaste of his later peccadilloes.  more>>>
