DC Metro Cops Struck By Hit-and-Run Driver, Terrorism Not Ruled Out

Patrick Poole reports at PJM:

Two Washington D.C. Metro police officers and a city worker were struck by a hit-and-run driver last night in the Adams-Morgan neighborhood. One officer was originally listed as critical, but has just been upgraded to serious.

Two suspects are in custody, and a weapon was found in the vehicle. FBI were on the scene, and authorities have said that terrorism has not been ruled out.

This was the short DC Metro Police press conference late last night at the scene:

According to witnesses, the white pickup truck was traveling at a high rate of speed when the two DC Metro police officers pulled out from behind a bus on their bikes and were struck.

The truck continued on, eventually hitting a trash truck.

Two suspects were removed from the vehicle and placed under arrest.

A weapon was reportedly recovered from the vehicle.

One of the suspects was transported by ambulance to the hospital, though its not clear whether it was the driver of the passenger.

FBI agents were on the scene of the crash site:
