Hal Bynum, Songwriter, is 85 years old today

Hal wrote this song in the early sixties. It was first recorded by George Jones, but Bill Monroe loved it and made it his own. He sang it every week on the Opry.

This song was recorded by Kenny Rogers in 1977.

Here is one recorded by Johnny Cash and Waylon Jennings, just because.

This is country music.

Happy Birthday, baby. You’ll always be my hero.

A sad-eyed girl with rollers in her hair
Down the hall somebody’s cookin’ cabbage
Kids are runnin’ up and down the stairs…

  2. A joyous birthday wirth from me. Lucille was my faviruite country hit as a teenager and a classc of Americana.
