Hate speech–but only against the Jews and Israel (the Jew of the world) has long flown under the banner of free speech/academic freedom/the First Amendment. Hate speech against African-Americans, Asians, Muslims, transgenderniks, drag queens etc. has been stopped dead in their tracks–as it should be. So why are people suddenly worrying about “free speech” when they’ve never worried about anti-Jewish/anti-Israel encampments, marches, lynching, pogroms, or Jihad?

Perhaps because envy is a huge hate motivator.
Laws against “hate” speech directly contradict the First Amendment, and as you point out… they don’t work, anyway.
