Huddersfield sex offenders who targeted schoolgirl sentenced

From the Telegraph and Argus

THREE child sex offenders who targeted a schoolgirl on her paper rounds have been jailed for a combined 41 years.

Banaras Hussain, 44, Mohammed Akram, 44, and Talish Ahmed, 41, were all sentenced at Leeds Crown Court on Thursday (July 15) after being found guilty of sexual offences committed against a young teenage girl in the mid 1990’s.

The men were all sentenced after being convicted as part of West Yorkshire Police’s long running Operation Tendersea enquiry.

Banaras Hussain of Church Street, Huddersfield, was sentenced to 18 years for two offences of rape against a female aged under 16.

Mohammed Akram of Moorbottom Road, Huddersfield, was sentenced to 13 years  for two offences of rape and an offence of indecent assault.

Talish Ahmed of Rashcliffe Hill Road, Huddersfield, was sentenced to 10 years for the rape of a female aged under 16.

I posted earlier in the month when they were convicted here. The details of their crimes are there too; I won’t repeat them.

Banaras Hussain is definitely already doing time for raping and brutalising other girls, and I wouldn’t be surprised to find that the others are too. He was sentenced to nine and a half years for rape in February last year. I expect this latest sentence is concurrent, not consecutive.
