Born into a non-Muslim culture, this “poet” might have been a man capable of reason. Islam destroys the intellectual faculties starting from the cradle. Only the strongest-willed and bravest among them can break free from the shackles of the ideology. Perhaps it is intellectual honesty that is the trait most needed to break free from the ideology, and that seems to be the trait Islam proscribes more than any other.
