Four men, part of the ‘Convoy 4 Palestine’ rally, arrested on suspicion of driving through London on Sunday calling for Jewish girls to be raped allegedly attacked Jewish-owned cars in Manchester the same day. Police today confirmed the gang were linked to the attack on a Jewish man’s car in Salford at 1.35am on Sunday.

The car in the video was part of a convoy of vehicles that began in the North and picked up support as it made its way through the Midlands to London. A second convoy with different organisers, this time starting in Birmingham, is planned for this weekend.

The Manchester incident saw the suspects follow and corner the Jewish man in his car in the early hours of Sunday. The group of young men are said to have jumped out their vehicles and tried to smash the victim’s windows. But the man is believed to have rammed their two cars and made a hasty escape before police arrived at Upper Park road.

GMP said: ‘Police were called at around 1.35am on Sunday 16 May to reports of criminal damage and disorder on Upper Park Road in Broughton Park, Salford. The incident appears to be religiously or racially aggravated and enquiries are ongoing. No injuries were reported. Four men have since been arrested on suspicion of racially aggravated public order and racially aggravated criminal damage. They have been bailed pending further enquiries. This behaviour will not be tolerated and high visibility patrols have been increased in the area.’
