Muslim Planning An Attack On Churches In Paris Arrested

Here.

Less complete BBC report, but in English, here.

He is not identified directly as a Muslim, but there are references to his wanting to join others in Syria.

And he is called the presumed killer of Aurelie Chatelain, whose body was found the other day.

Addendum: I’ve just seen the New York Times version of this story here. The headline is similar to mine, except that instead of “Muslim Planning…” — my version — the Times has “Student Planning…”

Which do you think is more important? That the man arrested is a “student” or that he is a “Muslim”?

  1. The French edition of the Local has some more details here.

He is described as an Islamic radical, and the planned attacks as terrorist ones.

He was in possession of a kalashnikov type weapon and a police search of his lodgings “unearthed several more automatic weapons as well as bullet-proof vests. A map detailing the locations of all Paris police stations was also found, BFM TV reported.

It is believed he wanted to strike against churches in the suburb of Villejuif, to the south of the city.”
