Naeem Akram jailed for sexually assaulting girl in his Nelson shop
I don’t post every attack on a girl or young woman by someone whose morals, or lack of them, is informed by his Islamic ideology. There’s too many, so I concentrate on the ‘grooming’ MO rape gang trials and a selection of the most serious other attacks. This one caught my eye partly because of the age of the girl and because she was in that most innocent of places, the corner general shop. Not a vape bar or the town’s notorious kebab den. A straightforward grocers to buy chocolate on her way home from school.
From the Lancashire Telegraph
A man has been jailed after sexually assaulting a teenage girl who was trying to buy some chocolate from his Nelson shop.
Naeem Akram, 36, formerly of Chapel House Road, locked the door of Chapel House Grocers and sexually assaulted the 15-year-old after she entered the shop on her way home from school.

She managed to get away and return home, where the offence was reported to police. Thank heavens she was the sort of sensible girl with sensible parents she could talk to.
Akram was arrested and charged.
He pleaded guilty to sexual assault and was yesterday (Wednesday, May 6) at Preston Crown Court sentenced to 12 months in prison. This assault took place 2 ½ years ago. I wonder what else he has got up to in that time. General opinion on the local town Facebook page is that the sentence is too short as longer is given for an angry tweet.
And what do we tell our daughters and granddaughters now? Only buy your sweets from household name chain supermarkets now, where there are enough staff to chaperone you?
